Proper way to dyno automatic?

Default Proper way to dyno automatic?

What is the proper procedure for dynoing an automatic with a locking torque converter?

I have the ability to hold gears and command lockup using my laptop.

So I force 3rd gear and then initiate the lock up from 2000 rpm or so?

you'll have to lower the 3-2 shift points also.

Not if you lock 3rd with the bi-directional controls.

I always thought it would be cool is someone would change their shift points so that it would not downshift and you could actually get a WOT run from 3000 to redline in 3rd gear... very easy to do with a tuning program.

Well, I tune ten to fifteen cars a week with EFILive FlashScan, several of them being automatics, and I haven't seen one yet that it didn't work on - guess I'm not doing something wrong...

I use HP Tuners, and my Bi-directional controls ALWAYS work too...

I agree, I use EFI Live and have never had a problem with locking the transmission in third and having it downshift.
