Well, went back to the track today.. Those of you looking for solid results out of the box, I have failed you. Let me explain.
Only got 3 runs in at Atco today.
First pass against the Cobra I missed 2nd and 4th and still beat him (he had belt slip issues). That was a dismal 12.3 @ 114. Video up soon.
2nd pass. Decided to leave at 5000rpm because the track prep was good. This worked pretty well as the car went 1.71 60ft. Granny shifted the rest of the gears at 6500 (stock tach). Felt great in 1st and second, (7.6 @ 92.5mph) and then seemed so so in 3rd and 4th on the way to a 11.8 @ 117mph. Atco second pass
3rd pass was a waste as I missed 4th again.
So, couple things:
There was a noticeable headwind all day. (See flag in video)
Big *** leak - The major hole on the passenger side header is "fixed" for now. I believe this hole was present to a degree when the car was tuned. If so, it showed as a lean condition as Matt from HSW told me it did. With it "fixed", wouldn't that cause me to run fat? Matt, should we retune for the fix?
Knock - I didn't see any knock on the way to the track (Diablo handheld), but that doesn't mean I wasn't getting any. My headers are still touching in some places.
Stock tach. This thing is useless as I can't rely on it for anything. I'm having to shift by feel, which is not desirable.
103 octane gas - I was almost out of gas (on E) as I got to the track and had to throw 3.5 gallons of this stuff in. Did this reduce my power?
Weight - I weighed the car at Atco today. (3850lbs with me in it).
Car has stock suspension and runs on Fikse FM/5's at all 4 corners.
Things I will address:
I have ordered Pacesetters tonight. I should have them by Wednesday. I have had it with these headers.
Ordered tach light.
Fire away.

Re-tune after you swap headers. Did you run the Diablo to monitor for KR during the passes? The 103 octane fuel didn't help any, between that and the head wind you lost 2 mph from your previous best pass of 119.

even w/ the stuff that went wrong, you put down good numbers w/ being full weight!!
i agree w/ matt.....new headers and then retune, youll see mid 11s...
lemme know when you head back to the track. ill be there on tuesday running.

i am impressed by the dyno numbers and the graph curves on cam only. thats bad ***. you guys are crying because of your track numbers, but i would kill for those numbers (i hate living in denver, nice, but way the hell up here!) i dynoed 486hp 484tq and i ran a 13.8@110 this weekend. granted that was on street tires and they made me run out of the groove for the slick guys, but i wanted to trap higher....

I purchased a cam on Saturday, should have it by the middle of this week, installed by next week, tuned the same weekend, I will be looking at track times in mid april. I just want a car to trap over 120mph, I dont care how it has to happen, if I have to spray or what.
My cam is a 228/232 .585/.595" on a 114+2 XE-R.
Decent numbers, get those problems fixed and then go back out, let us know how you do. Im interested to see what a difference little issues can make(at the track). A lot of people think that little things (small exhaust leaks and what not) make little to no difference, hopefully your car will prove that theory wrong.
