Default Dyno numbers and Track times!

Friday night I decided to put the car on the dyno before hitting the track Saturday. The car was dynoed in 98 degree shop temp, on 27x11.5 Hoosier QTP's, Moser 12 bolt, All belts on car, Thru the cutout, SAE corrected. Car did 496/434 NA. I thought that was killer considering it was on slicks, hot as hell, and my dyno has always been a lil gready. Took the car to the track today to back up the numbers and in 3410 DA (Hot as Hell!), 3650 race weight the car went the following.........

60 ft 1.629
1/8 ET 7.091
1/8 mph 99.25
1/4 ET 11.140
1/4 mph 124.97

I couldn't get the car to hook all day. On the above pass it spun all of first pretty much. I think it would have gone 10's with a decent 60 foot even in the Heat. But it backed up MPH wise the dyno numbers it made.

Car has 58cc TFS 215's, a 241/247 custom grind I speced out, and all the bolt ons in the sig.

John

Thanks fellas! A good friend of mine that was with us has been 127.5 in good air and only went 124 today. Man, winter can't get here fast enough!

I'd like to see a lil over 500 on street tires. I'm very pleased with it as it is though, all the 500 + numbers were on 10 bolt cars or vettes. I'll post up with an update with the street tires.

Pretty stout setup !!! I hope to cut a time slip like you sometime. Going to need a lot of practice though. Congrats, and good luck on a 10 second slip.

John,

Nice numbers and times! You just need to travel north to where there is already some cool weather!

Packy, I'm about ready to hunt cold air! I think it's gonna be a nasty summer this year.

Times listed are NA. Made two bottle runs with the first killing the tires to 3rd gear running a 10.8 at 134 with a 1.9 60 bringing the 150 on slow with the controller due to the track not hooking very well. The second run had some driveline carnage on the 1-2 shift! So on the trailor it went.

My bad I knew you had nitrous...did not know if that was NA or nitrous run. I thought it looked like a NA run but you never know if the track is not hooking very well how much you have to pedal it out of the hole which will affect the top end.

What did you break on the second nitrous run? Hope nothing serious/expensive.

those are good power #'s, and I can assure you that the 60 foot is the key to 10 second passes, the shakedown time in my sig was a 1.53 60 foot, the first full run was a 11.06 at about the same mph, but with a 1.61 60 foot time.

125 should get you to about 10.5 once the car is hooking up good.. at least that's the results I am looking for.

John,

It was good meeting you yesterday at the track. You ran some great numbers considering the DA and your race weight. BTW your car looks great as well.

Sick numbers and times! Are the heads "out of the box" or do they have additional work?
