Default Heads/Cam Tuned @ Katech

Previously, my car dynoed 434/390 STD on a Dynojet, with the same mods in my signature. My car had some drivability issues so I decided to get it retuned. I made the following changes:

Before:
Ram VDS
Stock injectors
20w50 mineral oil

Now:
Ram Street Dual Clutch with Aluminum Flywheel
4.10 Gears
38# injectors
5w 30 Mobil 1 synthetic
Tightened intake manifold bolts
K and N filter in Vararam
Smooth Air Bridge
Fully Broken in Motor

My final numbers on a Mustang Dyno SAE were 419.1 rwhp 362.4 rwtq. Overall, I am pretty happy with these numbers because this dyno is definitely a bit stingy. The drivability of this car is impeccable. The idle has a lope to it but is rock solid @ 900 rpm. The car has virtually no cam surge; I could drive in 6th gear @ 40 mph perfectly fine. Kirk the tuner did a phenomenal job.

I took the car to the track yesterday in 90+ degree heat, 2564 ft DA and went 12.5 @ 119.3. I thought that was decent considering I am a sub-par driver. I picked up 29 MPH from 1/8 mile to 1/4. So, if I could improve my 8th I probably could trap mid 120s on a cool day.

I would like to Thank Katech for doing and excellent job on my car. Thank you Jason, Dan, and Kirk. If you want something done to your LSX car call Katech @ 586-791-4120 ask for Jason.

Very nice TQ curve.. Do you have your rev limiter set to 6700? It looks like it's still pulling @ that point.

thats cool. My motor made 463 on that same dyno. I cant wait to see what it does on a good dynojet.

those are some good track times especially for that crappy weather.

Thanks, I think you might break 500 rwhp on a dynojet. I am guessing mine would get around 450 on a dynojet. I am sure the 4.10s are eating up a little of my power also. From what I hear, Mustang dynos read 8% lower than dynojets. Have you ran at the track yet?

It sure feels like it still pulls up there, but the rev limiter was set at 6800 rpm. Its probably could go higher but I don't mind being on the safe side.

I was guessing 480-490 on a dynojet. This motor was owned by "mike c." that had it tuned on vector motorsports dyno and his best was a 11.1@125.7. I still have the weak 10 bolt. it running strong though. I would like to see what your car does on a dynojet just for comparison to.

My friend Doug did 490 rwhp on a dynojet, he has a slightly smaller cam than you but basically the same setup.

I got to go for a ride with Chris in his car yesterday. The tune is dead on, the 4.10's make for an interesting 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear. Get some tires Chris, and you will really feel what those 4.10's are doing for ya off the line and down low. Chris is a pretty decent driver, but BF Goodrich KD's just won't let him run to his potential. I recently stepped up to the Michelin PS2 sports as advised by Bobby at LG Motosports and they are a great option in my opinion. You would hook a lot better Chris. Ok back to subject, Chris's car pulled like a freight train once he got traction and I was a little nervous. Not used to being the passenger. LOL. I can definately see that his car is going to run in the 120's (123-126) as soon as he gets some tires and we get a good night to run on. The 90 degree temps yesterday killed him. Chris's car will definately trap more then 119.xxx mph. Good luck Chris and stay in touch. Would be interesting to go out and run our cars again, too bad there was so much traffic yesterday. This weekend might be better. Could be Allngn_c5 vs cgillies86 part 2. Stay in touch Chris, and great car !!

Thanks for the kind words. I can't wait to see what your car does at the track. Just make sure to go there on a cooler day.

You are most welcome Chris. I love how smooth your car runs. As far as the track goes, I too am looking forward to seeing what she will. So between work and my Fiance' I am pretty busy. Glad she let me get out with you for awhile yesterday since you are going to be gone for awhile. Have fun at the university on that internship and stay in touch. I'll let you know as soon as I get to the track.

Nice numbers! I dynoed my car on this same dyno as well. It definitely does give low numbers. My LS7 headed 427 hit 497rwhp/44rwtrq through a dogged exhaust. On a dynojet it probably would have been around 530rwhp. But his dyno is setup for tuning purposes, not high dyno numbers. I also got to run the dyno myself, that was an interesting experience, and had Jason from Katech help me out a bit. Their LS7 camaro made MAD numbers on that dyno as well, it was VERY impressive!

Best Regards,
Adrian

Thanks sounds like you have quite a monster for a car. The camaro they did has around 550 RWHP on the mustang Dyno it ran 10.8 @ 126 yesterday for its best time. It was definitely not a great day to race, but that car still did great.

837 ft + 86 degrees F + 30.24 in. pressure + 53.1 degree dew point = 2564 ft Density Altitude. Milan Dragway.

dude, chris, that dyno looks EXACTLY like my dads dyno chart. check it out.

our eng's are very similar, only slight differences. we got 3:73 gears, but sean stopped pulling at 6300rpm (I have no fricken clue why. I told him to rev it out to 7000 so I could see exactly where it stoped pulling). not sure how the weight entered into the computers would affect the #s it puts out? I got stock inj.s still cause sean swore they would be ok. Im not so sure though bout that.

cant wait to get dads car to the track. I will be extatic if I can hit 120mph in the heat of summer. but you do need some tires there man. Im thinking we need to line them up sometime since the dyno's are soo close.

dads car has a CRS/SP port job (lol. thats me!) on some 853 heads, LS6(stock) intake, ported stock tbody, custom 235/242 cam with the high lift int. lobe on a 110 icl. hooker longtube headers/offroady, cheap *** catback with stock ipipe. 3:73 gears. t56, steel dshaft and lightweight rims/etstreets. buying new et street radials soon though. only hoping the stock 10bolt lasts this summer. we'll see though. oh, and it has a lid.
