I've lived in MD, my entire life, and never heard anyone refer to South Eastern MD.

I live just south of Baltimore, and have gone to FBC in south baltimore (mustang dyno), Total Performance in Mt. Airy (mustang dyno, but their calibration is way low. I dyno'd nearly stock cts-v @ 295, yikes!) & Tony's Corvette's in Gaithersburg (dyno shop looks like an operating room, but pricey.)

I'm sure there are a lot more. PSI in Glen Burnie has a dyno (not sure what kind though).

I drove 600 miles round trip (Phila to Chesapeake, Va) to get Ed to look at my car. I was not happy with the power I was making for a 402/L92 setup. I was very pleased with the results. My car made 461/416 when I got there and 485/444 when I left.

Ed explained what he was doing as he worked on the car. The car was running very rich. It had been tuned before, but not by Ed. It idles better and feels great on the highway. I know of 3 other people who were having problems and Ed fixed them.

Yeah but it happens... I just retuned a SC'd car with cam and fast 90/90 and 10 #s of boost. The previous tune was done by a major board sponsor that everyone respects.

The car ran very poorly, especially in boost.

How can folks know who to trust?
For those that know, here is 90% of the previous tune that was on the car (edit- yes, the VE AND MAF tables were stock. Seriously):

IMO, a tune should be done right the first time. Period.
If it isn't it's best (or DAM close), it shouldn't leave the shop.

Trust is an issue though for sure, and you make a very valid point. It is very hard to know who is who in this business.

Nice car man!

Easy to say. Most people dont know a bad tune even if they have one.
I really think theres less tuners out there that really have a grasp of whats going on than people think.

i went to psi and made the number in my sig with the mods in my sig.
a friend went to fbc with his ws6 he had a procharger on it they helped him out with swaping s/c pulley belts (but the owner says the bolts are stripped now, not blaming fbc on that just stating what he said) and he only made 420 or so he said on 9Lbs, his car runs like trash, but hes at school in n/c so im not sure whats up with it

I don't know about the supercharger bolts, I just tuned it - and it wasn't making 9 lbs! 420 on a Mustang dyno for all the more mods he had is pretty good. He went to the track the next day and ran the best he has ever run and was all extatic about it... Saw him right before he went away to school and it was running good and he was happy... hmmm...

It did make 420 - but that's not bad considering it was a basically stock car with cats and a procharger. I don't remember the exact boost, but I remember we didn't get 9. I'm not on aim - I'll PM you my cell number and he can call me and talk about it if he wants to...

Well I got home from work tonight and had just got on here to see if I had any responses to my two threads and my phone rang. It was not only the owner of the buisness that did my parts install, but also the gentelman that did the tune on my car. Now I new right away that they had to be calling cause they read on here that I wasnt happy with my tune and figured out who Mikes02z28 was. I just have to say that I have nothing but respect for these guys. Most buisness's/ shops now adays just want to get your money and run with it and if your not happy then o'well. The only thing that they wanted was for me to be happy and for my car to be running 100%. I explained to them that the reason that I hadnt called them was not because I didnt trust them ( because I know that they do good work ) but that its difficult with my schedule(life in general) to get to them. So I was just trying to find a tuner a lil closer to me.They wouldnt hear of it. They offered to come get my car and bring it back to me, to come to me to check the tune or for any problems that might have arose since they worked on it and everything inbetween. To me that says alot about not just a persons character or a buisness's character but about the pride that F-BODY CENTRAL takes in there work and in there customers satisfaction.

I agree, i sent you a PM and was going to tell you the same thing. Bret and FBC have tuned about 10 cars for me and have 0 complaints. They always work with me and also go the extra mile. Still over 1 hour drive me to get there but happy to go there.
