Wow! Those are nice numbers. What kind of dyno was that on and what octane gasoline do you run?

All these dyno numbers are great to look at, but we all know these dynos are not equal. I'm curious to see what your combos have run at the track... or are they just for show and tell?

x2, 550rwhp in a reasonably light car should trap somewhere around 130.

Seeing the average hp these 408s are making, most of these cars should be running 130+ mph in a full weight f-body. I would like to see what most of these cars do run.

Has anyone done a 408 stroker using Advanced induction port n polished 243 heads? Wondering what power they make vs trick flows, AFRs, etc? I have an LQ9 motor with Ai port n polished 243 heads. Considering doing a 408 but could save money by keeping the Ai heads rather than buying another aftermarket head.

Quick and easy proven recipe is taking a 408ci short block. Set the 11.1:0 compression. Fast 102 mm intake/throttle body. AFR 245 heads out the box... 1 7/8 headers and a cam in the 240s. This combo will result in a 640 horse motor at the flywheel!

My 408 has put down 497rwhp and 468rwtq. That's on Ticks dyno with the converter unlocked and losing fuel pressure at high rpm, they haven't put it back on the dyno since they put in my new fuel pump. So it could be over 500rwhp now. Ticks dyno is known for reading low numbers compared to other dynojets, usually around 20rwhp low. I really don't care about dyno numbers, we can't race dyno numbers. As soon as I have the money to pick it up and put some drag radials on it I will have a few slips from Darlington Dragway.
