I'm not sure but I'm still on the stock heads so it shouldn't even be close.

This is a very similar graph to mine. I have the torquer 3, but I am interested in the paper filter thing. If anyone gives this idea a good test please post.
I have the UDP but my graph was real close but it had no fluctuation to it. It was smooth.
Sorry if I'm an idiot but how do I post a shot of my graph to compare?

You probably will need to scan it. Its hard to get a picture to where you can really see the graph. Find someone with a scanner and then just upload it as an attachment.

I think it was about 750 or 800. When I took it to get it tuned they turned it up to about 1k and it ruined it. It doesn't sound near as good at idle now. I'm going back to get them to put it back where it was.

I'm not trying to insult your intelligence or anything but you know that lift has nothing to do with PTV clearence right?
I'm not doing heads for probably about another year so I will check it then.

Was the idle clip of your car untuned?

How long did it take to get the cam?

Yeah it was untuned that's why it died when I went to start it the first time and why it blew a little smoke when I first started it. It doesn't normally smoke. I think it took me about 2 1/2 weeks to get the cam but that's really not that bad seeing as how comp cams has to make it then send it to them then they have to check it and then send it to you I think it was pretty fast. I was expecting more like a month.

my wife's 99 m6 ws6 (bone stock except for weld in blowmaster muffler) traps 105 with the filter and went 107-108 without it. i just left the filter out of my car, but at the time she drove hers more so she left it - she isn't as performance oriented as i am.

ultimately i sold that lead sled to build a lighter car with a bigger engine. new one should trap 108 also - in the 1/8.

i love seeing these cam threads, we're going to cam her t/a, but she naturally doesn't want anything radical. i was thinking 22x/23x on a 110 using lsk lobes and ~.630 lift - this just makes me want to do it more. keep it coming.

You can call bullshit all you want, but until you have built/tested HUNDREDS of cars and not just one your BS call wouldnt be too valid

We have done back to back on the dyno AND the track and seen NO improvement and usually a LOSS going to a K&N over a stock filter. Not EVERY car is going to react the same, but I have enough data to know K&N will not get my 50.00 or any of our customers.

FWIW, I dont care what the filter is made of.. If it works it works.. If it doesnt, it doesnt.

OP, glad you are happy with the gains. It looks like Patrick specced you a nice cam. Bring it back by and we can drop the idle for you a bit when you are ready. We tend to not care about cam lope as much as we do good street manners.

I would recommend Vengeance to anybody who's within driving distance.
Did the bucking and surging issue around 1700-1800 rpm range clear up when coasting?

First off all dyno's are different I could get off of Vengeances and get on somebody elses and you wouldn't get the same #'s. In a perfect world they would all be the same but this ain't a perfect world and they're not. Second I don't see why you would think that right at 400 whp cam only is low. I don't have a UD pulley or Tru duals or any of that. I've got a full exhaust (crappy y-pipe) a lid and cam and I'm making about 100 hp over stock. If this was a H/C car that would be low. Maybe if I had a UD pulley, duals, intake & TB, that would be a little low. But I don't see how you would think its low with my setup. What do you think cam only cars make?

Umm ya 397 is low compared to a large amount of inflated bs internet numbers.Seriously where do people get these ideas and expect outrageous numbers all the time?

Good numbers.

Kind of two threads going on at once here, but I'm seriously leaning towards throwing the stock air filter back in. My car came bone stock except for the K&N and now I'm thinking about getting rid of that, lol. I will be pulling whatever filter I have out for sure the next time I go to the track.
