Dyno Results With MS3
well guys. i got the tune. steve from performance turbo motorsports in belton, tx was a real cool guy and very knowledgeable. so we did the street tune. that took a couple of hours. then we went to the car shop in killeen, tx. also, great guys over there. both of my u joints are bad and my rear end sounds like a freight train, so we didnt know if the owner was gonna let us put it on his mustang dyno it. but he did. bottom line 336hp/347tq with an average of 13.1 afr at wot. i was very dissapointed, i wanted at least 350rwhp. we gained 24hp from the street tune to the dyno tune. they said the condition of the rear end was eatin up some horsepower. so steve is going to put 4.10s and a complete install kit from thunderracing in next thursday. for parts and labor hes gonna charge me $550. so i think that is a pretty good deal. i also found out the day before that my synchronizers are goin out in my tranny. so the beginning of the year i have to get that rebuilt. bye bye tax return. lol. i have the dyno sheet if yall wanna see it. i got the dyno graph if ya wanted to see it. im just so dissapointed in the results i didnt feel like postin it unless yall wanted to see it. my mods are in my sig. oh yeah and before yall ask, the guy i bought the car from bought it from a guy in okc. and that guy sent the motor to a guy in dallas who did a stock rebuild with a cam kit. so the guy who built the engine put in a cam he thought would work best with the mods on the car. so the owner isnt 100% sure what cam it is but remembers it is a magic stick 3. so i dont know the exact specs. i know its not that big because you can barely tell there is one in there. i also video taped the dyno runs. not sure if yall wanna see that or not.

Get the rear fixed the MS3 is not a light cam I've seen 410rw from that cam only. You have an issue, you need to find it. That is a great cam let it work for you, it will.

well the ms3 was already in the car. i just got the car this past wed. december 12th. i was hoping to come out with at least 350rwhp, but the most rwhp i got was 336rwhp. but that was in a 3rd gear pull, not sure if that matters. they did it that way because the rear end was so bad. they didnt feel comfortable doin a 4th gear pull. and they did say since the rear end was so bad it was eatin up a few hp, not sure how much. hope this clears some things up.

That is very low for your mods. Do you have a MIL light on? Any trouble codes?
Assuming the engine is mechancally sound (leak down test would be good to start with) you have some issue holding power back. Plugs, wires, MAF, etc could all be simple potential problems.
On second thought, I just noticed that you do not have a LS6 intake listed in your mods. That is your next bottleneck. I would do that ASAP...

well they checked out the engine and there were no leaks anywhere. like i said, the engin was rebuilt 1800 miles ago. so its pretty fresh and runs strong. and there were no lights or trouble codes he ran across while tuning it. and he said i should defineatley go with an ls6 intake and 32lb-34lb injectors because mine are maxed out right now. but right now im just worried bout gettin that rear end fixed on thursday. then ill worry bout gettin that other stuff.

You should be pulling in 4th gear not 3rd. I dont think pulling in 3rd is accurate. Also you would make more on a dynojet i think then the mustang dynos but 336 is slightly dissapointing.

what plugs and what gap are in the motor? When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? Clean your MAF...check the duty cycle on the injectors, make sure there all firing correctly. Total timming...tune, compression check, there are quite a bit of factors that can cause a motor to not run up to par. Something is not right for sure with that cam. Post the graph.

ok...i will post the graph sunday morning or afternoon. its now 430 am and im just getting back from 6th street. but i will defineatly post it sunday. and 99ws7...i dont know what spark plugs at what gap are in there, what spark plugs should i be running and at what gap? not sure when the fuel filter was changed. probably a good idea to do that. and how do i check the duty cycle injectors to make sure they are firing correctly.
