LT's ORY, & cat-back results
LT's ORY, & cat-back results We just picked up a new shop car last month, 2002 Z28 M6. so far we have added Kooks 1 7/8's long tube headers, Kooks ORY and magnaflow catback. The car already had a lid, ported stock thottle body, granitelli MAF, and other free mods. Temperature was about 30 degrees outside, maybe 10-15 degrees warmer around the car. Original dyno number of 306 was on a poor tune (A/F was all over the place) and a poor exhaust system.
Not bad numbers so far. Over the next few months we are going to be playing with different cam/head/nitrous combos. first will be three different cams. then the same cams with patriot heads, then will be the same cams with TFS 215cc heads. After that will come various levels of nitrous. We will keep everyone updated on what numbers come out. everyting for now will be tested with the stock ported TB and ls6 intake. final setup will include NW 90mm, intake elbow and a port matched edelbrock vic jr.

If most cars gained 50rwhp from just an exhaust/headers, then most full bolt-on cars would be putting down in the 360-370 range, and that's definitely not the norm. The norm seems to be 340s and 350s, with a handful pushing 360+, and a handful putting out lower numbers.

The car does have a lid and ported stock throttle body (sorry i didnt include that before). It basically has all the free mods as well. The car had a catback system on it before that wasnt put together very well, it also had a poor tune and the A/F was up around 16. So that exhaust plus the tune didnt surprise me to get those numbers. before the tune it was around 340, so 34 horsepower doesnt suprise me from this high quality exhaust system. if we simply bolted on this setup and gained 47 horsepower, i would be suspect as well, but i think a lot of it came with the tune.
I think it's just a strong running car. It seems to be about 10 rwhp higher than normal for the combo. Nothing wrong with that! We all know that not all cars are gonna put out identical numbers, and it's not way out there. Just a slightly strong running car. Awesome numbers! Keep us posted on any new mods/numbers! I'd be very interested in seeing how your plate system does because it's the strongest runner right now for what I'm gonna buy next 
I agree with the previous responses. While you can show examples of similar setups and results, almost 50rwhp from just exhaust is an awesome gain, and definitely not the norm. Keep in mind, he said "awesome gain from just exhaust", not "awesome gain for that particular setup". I'm sure it has something to do with the great exhaust components you went with, and I can't wait to see how it does with some more bolt-ons and a few different cams.

We're gonna start with the cams this week and i will definitly keep you guys updated. the plate will be going on eventually and i think it will put down big numbers with the right cam and the TFS 215s.

I am sure with a cutout you would see at least 5 rwhp and be a closer comparison to the car you linked with true duals.
