Default New Dyno #'s

http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2063...82595764AHozGE
This is my new motor (around 1600mi) and my first time on a Mustang Dyno. The hp peaked at about 6000rpm and just flatlined with 403hp, tq came in at 368 this was with the converter locked.

Would my power leveling off yet holding flat be my stock ls6 intake/tb?

Specs on the motor? I would think a flatline that's limiting your peak power would be fuel related. Time to upgrade the injectors? I'm sure you'll get a bunch of people chiming in. Let us know the specs on the new motor.

370ci longblock from TSP with a Ms4 & 2.5 Ls6 heads. I have a fuel pump and 38lbs injectors so it should be ok on the fuel side of things. And I got my afr to 12.6-13.1 through the whole run.

yeah i would think u should be making way more power than that...with ms3 and 5.3 stage 2.5 heads my dad put down 433rwhp on a mustang dyno through an a4...also was a 346ci

he does have a 90/90 though

I also have a friend with a turbo civic that runs low 11.2's in the 1/4 that put down a little over 400hp when his car was tuned on another dyno(I'm pretty sure this was a dyno jet), yet he put down 350hp on this mustang dyno I was just on. I had always thought the difference was about 20hp or so?

I am not sure but I don't think the difference between Mustang and dynojet is a definitive number...I think it varies from set up to set up. I say take it to the track and see what it does. The numbers do seem low even for a mustang dyno though. Good luck with your pursuit of more power.

Devon, good to see the car back on the road. With the hp flatlining above 6k rpm, it maybe valve float. What rocker arms are you running?

Most of the #s I've seen comparing Dynojets to Mustang dynos have the Mustang dyno reading 10-15% lower, which would agree with the #s you listed (400 whp on Dynojet, 350 whp on Mustang).

Before the dyno/tuning I took it to the track and went 11.73@115 n/a and the car weights 3800lbs with me in it. *damn iron block* And after my tweaking on the dyno I did the 1/4 run, it said I went 11.63@114 and that was with a little tire slipageon the dyno.

Hey Brian, what's going on? I'm using my stock rockers with the Prc Dual springs. If it was valve float would the car still pull fine/hard past that point because it does?

Devon, I was having valve float on my old head/cam setup with a set of Jessel SS rockers and didn't know it until I dynoed the car. Motor pulled great to redline on the street, but on the dyno the hp flatlined from 5900-6700 rpm. I went back to my stock rockers and the problem was fixed. Since your still running the stock rockers and PRC springs you shouldn't be having any valve float issues.
