Default Why do stalls hurt dyno numbers?

I've always heard that having a stall really hurts dyno numbers, not that numbers matter, only times but I was wondering exactly why the numbers are hindered?

Because the stall converter is slipping more than the stock converter.

They are less efficient. With locking the converter you should limit converter slippage and mimick 6 speed like results.

I have a 3600 and it killed my dyno numbers, but I know its putting out more, so I just use it as bait. Im more concerned with track times then dyno numbers.

I have yet to dyno my car since the full exhaust and 4200 stall went in and it's still not tuned but stock it was 327rwhp/343rwtq but it did drop 7 tenths without the tune and coasting thru the traps!

Never worry about dyno numbers. Worry about performance.

more drivetrain loss, simple as that.

Same reason that A4 cars dyno lower than M6 cars.

RWHP is only a small part of the factor of whos car runs the 1/4 faster.
