My latest 408 dyno results
I finally took my car to the dyno today for some tuning and see what the new changes did. My old setup consisted of a 408 Stroker 12:1 CR, Comp XE-R 244-248, ETP 225 heads, Fast 90/90, Kook's 1 7/8" and so forth. The car has a 12 bolt and 4.11 gears with 315's out back. It made 498rwhp and 466.
I changed the cam to a FMS 248-252 cam, added Trickflow 235 heads, a Meizere Electric water pump and added Magna flow cats because I was tired of smelling like gas fumes all the time. It was 91 degrees out today. The results were 540rwhp and 480rwtq. I was expecting 525 to the wheels so needless to say I am pretty happy. I gained 42 rwhp and 14 rwtq. The torque curve is basically flat 450tq at the hit of the throttle at less than 3500 rpm, peaked at 480 tq at 5000rpm and held it to 425 tq at about 6500. He said I ran out of MAF. He made about 7 pulls but I only got the sheets for 3 of them. I looked when I got home and didn't see the final pull sheet.
The first sheet is from my old setup. Once again I didn't get the last dyno sheet with the final numbers.

The Trickflow heads are awsome. The power is crazy. I have MT 315 Drag Radials and it still hazes them in 1st through 3rd. I don't plan on running nitrous, I can't plant all the power as it is. I have full suspension also.
Drivability is great also. No surging or bucking and can lug it around at 1200-1500 rpm if need be.

great results, congrats. those tfs heads are a great piece. it seems like those etp's should have done alittle better though, especially on torque. i drive my junk around on 275 sumitomos (to cheap to drop money on drag radials right now) so traction is pathetic haha .

If anything, shouldn't that make it MORE impressive since Mustang dynos typically read lower, or possibly the same, rather than higher? Sounds like a strong *** setup to me, especially the gains. Based on all of the dyno and track results floating around here for the past couple years, especially lately, I really don't see any reason to go with anything except TrickFlows if you can afford it. They make some badass heads.

Unless the comparison is done before and after on the SAME DYNO, under the SAME CONDITIONS, or AT LEAST SIMILAR, the results are skewed.
So no, to me the results are not "even more impressive"
Isn't it ironic that you can "make" a mustang read the same as a DJ, but you cant "make" a DJ read the same as a mustang?

You can make a Mustang dyno read HIGHER than a DJ if you want to. Been discussed here over, and over, and over, and over a couple more times.

Glad I'm not the only one to feel this way...

A friend of mine dynoed his car at both locations as I did and his numbers were exactly the same on both dynos. This mustang dyno was campaired to 3 other dyno jets and they all were the same give or take a hp or two.
