Default C5 vs FBody

A friendly dispute between coworkers.... She has a C5... claims 441rwhp (full weight), I have a 99 SS 383 with 471 rwhp (full weight). what are some key factors to consider if we were to race at the track? weight transfer, 10 bolt rear vs independent rear, by the way what is the full weight of the C5? She is triing to tell me that of course i will win every time because i have 40 more cubes than her. I am trying to tell her, because of the obvious weight difference that it should be alot closer than she thinks. what do you all think. both cars are 6 speed with 4.10 gears

on stock cubes, she'll have to have a pretty agressive H/C/I setup to put down 440hp. could be a flag of BS talking right there.
is it a coupe or a z06? coupes weigh in the 3250lb range i think.
A4 or M6? a 450hp c5 should be an easy 11sec car.

you've probably got about a 300+lb disadvantage on weight vs. her car.

so i am saying it would be alot closer than she claims it would be just because of my 40 extra cubes. am i right in thinking that?

Around 3550. I'm not sure about this, but the GVWR and Vehicle capacity weight listed on the driver's side door should get you the weight. My GVWR is 4268 and cap. weight is 701. Just find the difference and factor in weight reduction/addition.

Doubtful. Chicks can't drive. The cars are pretty evenly matched, though.

like i said before. its going to take a decently done setup to put down 441hp. probably trex, ms3/4, g5x3/4, ect sized cam. you should easily be able to hear that large of a cam, especially if she has headers, on startup. should be somewhat of an indicator of how stout the car is.

is it an auto or stick? runflats on the back?

It's not too far fetched. Ported heads and a big cam with a good flowing intake should get an LS1 there.

WOW.....I know of a couple of chicks that would make you **** your pants.

OP.....It should be a pretty close race. If she thinks '40 CI' is what will make or break this race, she has some learning to do IMHO.

You should have her on the take off, but once you get mid track she might start gaining on you..

But 241 heads with mild port work=Less than 440hp. Unless thats one big *** cam...

hmm i doubt she is making that hp with those ported 241's,from what ive heard and read on here it would take one big *** cam(like previously stated) to reach that power.but who knows, just race her and get it on tape !

but if she is making that much power than i will say...

441 whp c5 > 471 whp f-body

No noticeable lope on mine anymore.........cam in sig....

HPTuners is your friend....

Still working on the throttle cracker settings, though. No surge, but still get the cruise control effect.

The C5s can run very well with only a little bit of hp. Mine has only dynoed 299rwhp but has run a best ET of 12.81 at 109.4, with an automatic on all season tires too. It's completely stock other than a Vararam intake and tuning. If I stuck a good converter in it and some ET streets this car would easily go 12.3s.
