You're really worried? You know like 90% of Honda motors do that right? **** especially the VTEC motors, it's the piston rings, they suck! Everything in a Honda engine is toleranced to such high standards yet the piston rings are randomly chosen out of a pile when the motors are assembled.

I know they smoke, my old GS-R smoked at high rpms too. When I watched it on the dyno when it had 189k on it, I was nervous till they told me it was normal. But I'm putting in 2-3qts between oil changes, so I wanna make sure it's nothing serious. Gonna have the valves adjusted and run a compression check soon.

What really sucks wirh VTEC is when one of the pins stick and it eats the engine. It happened to my wife's Acura. I will say they took a huge interest in it, I guess it was one of the first failures, and sent technicians and engineers to look at our engine. They replaced everything for free, paid for the rental, a really nice Acura and generally treated us with a lot of respect. They were actually really awesome. I haven't owned another Honda since then but they did earn a lot of respect from the way they handled the situation.

Well I'm sorry it's not happening as quickly as you would like . Combine the end of the semester with the holiday season (extra work for both of us), and it's not exactly top priority. But like I said, I'll post a video when it happens.

I don't think the goat will even try to break a sweat. Any mph, any rpm, the goat will take it to the stock s2k pretty hard.

Well Irun, I see you still haven't raced that goat. I wonder maybe is it because you think you are going to lose and you have talked yourself up to the goat owner so much that after he is finished beating you, you won't be able to show your face around him anymore?

Or maybe you just haven't had time to race yet. I've been checking this thread off and on for a while now, STILL WAITING FOR THE RACE DAMMIT!!!!!!!

Definitely not. We talk and joke about it all the time actually, but we usually have semi-different work schedules. He actually works full-time, so when I get to work he'll already be there, and he usually leaves a couple hours before close, while I close. So the schedules just haven't lined up yet. It'll happen though, just be patient

Hmmm...that isnt' good.

I wonder if the original owner didn't break in the motor correctly and now your 'beating' on it and the results of the rings not setting right are showing.

Should have kept your mustang man.

oh wait.

Yeah, the Mustang's new shortblock was using oil twice as fast as this car... I have a feeling it was going to be getting replaced (under warranty) soon.

I went to the track a few weeks ago with a few friends of mine; one of which drives an automatic 2004 Goat. The best he could muster was a 14.0 at 102. If he wasn't spinning off the line, he was bogging it. It was his first outing and I think the car's got more in it, but he was having trouble.

Ran an S2000 once and got stomped on the take off. He had just finished doing a few doughnuts and wholeshotted my ***. I spun my cold and bald 18" trash, but caught up and blew past him at about 65-70. It was embarrassing.

You could theoretically take this fellow down.

my brother in law's wife has an 07 s2000 and he wont even race me, he tried racing me a few times with me in the TBSS and i launched on him so bad that the last timed he tried launching at some super high rpms and smoked his clutch, he could hardly drive home. and i was just brake stalling to like 1500, which for me anything more and i just sit and spin. so if a 4500 pound truck can stomp one, HMMMMMMM......

Well your TBSS would monkey-stomp an automatic LS1 GTO, so that's kind of a moot point. And like I've said many times, most people don't know how to launch S2000s.

13.7 is a good time with just a CAI. He's definitely a pretty good driver . But those clutches can't take too many high-rpm launches before they call it quits (which I'm sure he knows now), which is why I'm not going to the track until I get a new clutch.
