I have a friend that dropped a LS7 into a FD rx7, it has headers and an intake, running on haltech, its slow as hell, will barely break the tires loose. A mutual friend drove my H/C z28 and his LS7 FD, he said that my car is much faster than the FD. I am thinking about running the LS7 RX7 for some money because he thinks hes billy badass and his car is so incredibly fast and hes the coolest **** around with the nicest fastest car. And i know my friend that told me my car was quicker wouldn't be lying about that. I'll probably put some 4:10 gears in my car and a small hit of nitrous, 50-75 shot to seal the deal. Any input is appreciated.

2. something is wrong with it, tune or mechanical.
probably both.

that would make a brutal car, guys putting ls1's in them are in the low 12's high 11's. that car weighs nothing and if you can get it to hook, is potent.
something definitely missing in the picture.

If it really was an LS7 RX7 it WOULD be one of the fastest things around. It would stomp the living **** out of a H/C Z28.

+1 on both of the above, I wanna call bs. If hes really a tool like you say he probably has an f'ed up ls1 and hes calling it an ls7. A stock ls1 in an fd is good for mid 12's. a stock ls7 in one is a 10 sec car on decent tires. hes full of ****.

its a Ls7 for sure, everyone is thinking the haltech tune is crap and that's why its so slow, I think he put down around 420hp, just like me. I'll see if he'll run and if I'll get raped, but this guy is a tool, with more money than sense.

LS7s are not the end all be all, but his car should be really fast and smoke me with ease, its funny that my car seems faster, maybe I should take him down a notch and run him. I told him a ls7 was a waste of money and he should have went with a 40x sized engine on some juice, ALSO he can't beat his dads c6z06 either.

still, keep in mind that if he is only puttin gout 420hp. he probably has your H/C car beat on numbers, unless youve got a decent stout h/c combo. PLUS he's going to weigh MUCH less than you. like 600+ lbs.

those numbers are way off. my old roomates c6z with headers intake and tune made 480. that tune has to be f#%@ed becuase they put out 440 wheel stock. with headers and the fact that there should be less drivetrain loss without a rear mounted trans like the vette has, he should make between 470-500rwhp unless theres something seriously f'ed up.

and a 450 wheel camaro is still not a race for 450 wheel c6z. depending on the gear ratios you and him have may be why your car "feels" faster (not saying it may not actually BE faster). but even with the car making 420, you SHOULD need at least 450+ on paper. But hey stranger things have happened and races arent won on paper! only one way to find out! good luck, and your right, for the amount of money he spent on that 7 he could have built a bad 4xx motor that can handle more abuse. The rings are weak on the LS7 so after h/c hes out of options to make it any faster.

its a ls7. I think the tune is off, he has traction control he scared of taking off. He more into the dori dori jap drifter y0 style than real racing. I think i'd beat him because I can hook hard with 315 dr's, but for some reason he doesnt wanna race?
