LQ4 = 450 plus HP. You tell me!
Alright, here's the low down. I need some advice on what set-up will give me 450/plus HP out of my LQ4 6 liter. My thoughts were to run a TSP MS3 cam,317 heads milled to 62-64 cc and full bolt ons. Is this going to be achievable with those heads or do I need to go a different route? I have been throwing around the idea of running a set of TSP's stage 1 5.3 liter heads instead, but an unsure of the gains. Give me your thoughts our if I'm going in the wrong direction then tell me what parts will get me there.
Thanks
Thanks

Fast 92/92
L92 heads w/ TSP gold dual spring kit.
offset cam (ex.232/240)
Large primary headers (American racing/Kooks)
With a larger cam you want to raise the compression higher than stock LS1 (10.1:1) I say shoot for closer to 11:1 if not a tad higher to use more of it's potential.

With running the L92 heads how much would you mill them down and what would be the desired comp. ratio? I would like to have the comp. ratio upwards of 11.1 but without any PTV issues.

Well the stock chamber is ~70cc's. I say u post up in the enine internal section and see what they say and PM predatorZ and/or patrickG, either of can spec a cam to meet ur goals. predZ specd a large stealth cam for my build.

Milling them .030 would net a 62cc chamber and get you 10.9:1 with a .045 head gasket.
Or you could simply go for the set of 317's you have mill them to get the same chamber size for the same CR, but you will be giving up top end power because of the smaller chamber/runner design. I say sell the 317's and pick up a set of 241's or 243's. If you get the 241's have them cleaned up and milled. The 243's you can run as is man, the chamber's are 63cc i believe and they flow VERY well. Bare minimum intake should be a LS6, if not something larger.
Will this be in a F-body? If you have enough room run a victor Jr. intake with a 90 degree elbow. It will flow really good up top where that cam needs it. At less than half the cost of the FAST, with more flow on the top end, without the risk of overheating #7, how can you go wrong.

how much do you have to spend?
suggestions all depend on budget, reliabality/maintenance, goals for the car, what type of racing, street manners ect... Honestly i would run a stock lq4 bottomend with upgraded rod bolts. Then i would run off the shelf l92 heads and l76 intake and have a sponsor spec you a custom cam for a 450rwhp setup . If you want more like 500rwhp look into this thread,

djsanchez2 In your last post what heads are you referring to milling in your first sentence? The L92 heads?
I am looking for a MAX effort heads/cam 6.0 and it doesn't have to have any street manners.
