How to beat a GT500.
Just wondering what it would take for me to beat one of these bad boys with my car. I hear they are slightly slower than a termi and that they are mid to high twelve second cars in stock trim. Is that true?

Really? They just don't seem that fast to me. Of course i'm magazine racing here lol, but still. On a comparison I read they pulled a 12.7 quarter time vs. a 12.6 for the termi! I would be in the elevens with the mods you mentioned would I not? I figured full bolt on with stickies and a stall maybe, but a cam too?

I believe you could do it with full bolt ons and a good 60ft. from a roll you would lose. Those cars are slow and suck donkey *****. It doesn't take much to take'em out. Heavy pig bitches.

OP, nitrous would be the easiest cheapest way. They can be quicker than a Cobra but it takes a good driver. Peak torque at something like 2000rpm through a 6 speed with an SRA and narrow tires is a bitch at times...
The best ET for one is 12.2 I believe around 114

just as an FYI my Termi only traps 117 at its best at the track BUT i beat 123mph c5z06's on the street ALL DAY from 20 rolls... I think theres a huge misconception about the GT500's and Termi's because they are so heave it hinders track performance but when you dont have to get all of that moving from a dig these cars can deffinantly hang with faster cars... its gonna take cam, stall, and a FAST in an auto car to be able to pull and that will only be after 110mph imo...

Stock C5Z's only trapped 115-117mph.
The C6Z on the other hand is the one that traps 120's.
OP- easiest answer, a good 275/50-15" DR and a 125 shot will do you good. That should be more than enough to roll on one, from a dig or roll. It will cost you less than $1000. I am sure you can find used **** for cheaper on here and ebay/craigslist, but that's just to give you an idea.
