Thats because third gens,s10's are very lightweight and cheap to buy. I got my 85 trans am for $500 of my brother no joke

And so you bought it for $500, and swapped a different engine/transmission/rearend in it, right? I don't see how that's much different from someone buying a CRX/Civic shell and building from there. Like I said, to each his own.

except the difference is pound for pound, mod for mod, it will probably be faster than the CRX/CIVIC.....thats the difference

So basically what you're saying is that everyone should buy and mod the same thing?

That's a cop-out of an answer. You said it was a waste of time/money doing an engine swap if you couldn't run 11s or faster. Then you talk about lb for lb and mod for mod and all that, but yet your racecar of choice is a 2002 Z28. Why not just use a '98 for half the price? You need to accept the fact that yes the LSx is a great platform, but it's not the only platform. And there's always a cheaper way to go fast. So why get all pissy when somebody talks about something NOT involving an LSx?

People should not bother buying FWD economy cars and swap out their 160hp engine for a 200hp engine then drive around thinking their grandma's car is hot ****. It would be different if they didn't talk up their cars so much...

I don't base my opinion of a car off what other people say about them. If I did, I would hate F-bodies and Corvettes.
