Ive been hovering around dragtimes because im bored and i see some "stock" is 350's that seem to be running stock ls1 times... just doesnt add up. Most dyno around a 260-270 whp which is great for a 6 banger and most weigh the same as an f-body. Something just doesnt add up power/weight wise? what has your guys experience been with racing any of these cars?

im thinking its all b/s over at that site but i have no experience with these cars.

I also dont see how the lexus is-f with only 10 more horsepower then a c5 z06 but like 600-700 pounds heavier runs the same times as the z06? what am i missing?

show me links of a stock lexus running 11's? bone stock because thats what a stock c5 z06 runs unless your looking at 1/8 mile times

Do some research... they're out there. I think the record for a C5Z is 11.7. People were semi-routinely running 11.9s.

There's a few in the high 11's. Most I've seen are 12.1-12.3 with a good driver.

The IS-F is no joke, OP. 8 gears really helps move that extra weight

I love the IS-F. If I had 60k just laying around, that is what I would pick up. But anyway....was OP only talking about the IS-F, or the other IS series, like the 350 and whatnot.

im mostly curious about is-350... there seems to be a huge spread in what these cars times are . some are in the low 14's some are in the low 13's... supposedly all stock...

im just wondering if some of these guy are throwing on a 50 shot or what...

basically stock for stock how do they stack up to a ls1 car? anyone raced one?

Post the times you are talking about because all the ones I see in the low 13s are modded.

Either way these cars seem to be underrated in power like the fbodies were.

Yea some of em are modded but its only stupid stuff like intakes which almost everyone that owns one of those cars admits doesnt make much power just a better 'sound' and exhaust. I dont think there is too many mods they could do to the motor to make it faster without f/i or nitrous...

just doesnt add up to me, 260-270 rwhp in a car that weighs as much as an ls1 camaro/firebird with 300-310rwhp....

There are six listed...dont' get all homage over them. And RANGER is by no means your average vette driver. He is well known for pulling better than normal times out of his ***.

The chances of you seeing that, are as high as a mach 1 pulling high 12s.



OP - I have a question that may help you answer your questions..................since when was HP and Weight the only thing that mattered in Drag racingt?
