Default cobra guys post up

i was just perusing youtube looking at videos of mustangs vs camaros because a buddy of mine has finally settled on a 07 GT and was wondering how they fare against camaro's. and i found this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmbET...eature=related

now could this cobra driver not drive or will a near stock camaro such as this one beat a bone stock cobra that badly. i mean that camaro walked away. now when he got the tune and intake it was almost dead even till high mph, the poster cut it short but you could tell the cobra was rolling past him real good.

I don't know honestly, but if you read the comments there is some dipshit who says, "I'm not all up for that turbo bullshit!". Just goes to show you some people can't tell a supercharger whine from a little turbo whistle

guy in the cobra cant drive. it will take a bolt on ls1 fbody to run with a stock 03-04 cobra usually from a roll at least, the track is a different story depending on traction/suspension mods.

An 01-02 f-body with a lid, catback and stickies should run right with if not outrun a bone stock sc'd cobra. Now, you add bolt-ons to that cobra and like a pulley, and it's gonna take quite a bit for the f-body to keep up.

Also, it would just be stupid to think that a CAI and a predator tune would make that much of a difference in any car. It seems to me that the first couple of runs the cobra driver may have just been messing around. Those last couple runs looked about right to me.

A CAI and tune on an S197 GT will knock off almost a half a second ET and trap 2-3mph higher. There have been CAI/tune only GT's hitting 12.8-12.9. They do make a big difference especially on a car that is FI from the factory (i.e. '03 Cobra)

What happened happened in that vid. All cars no matter what make need the right driver to take the car to its limits. IMO, the Cobra is a hard vehicle to drive. Of course not having a hydraulic clutch pedal and a "notchy" T56 will make driving a Cobra a slight challenge in regards of racing. Just takes some time getting used too. excuses excuses. Just line em up!

Well I stand corrected. That makes sense so far as like a professional tune, but I have heard that the predator tuners really aren't that great. But, if you figure a .1 from the CAI, and then like .2-.3 for the tune. But I could be wrong.

The tune is garbage from the factory on the stock 3v's. A tune alone does so much for those cars
