My Stang vs. New Auto Camaro SS
Ok first off, dont get your panties bunched up. So this kid, yes kid, just got a brand new auto camaro ss and is already talking ****. My Muffstain is very stout for what it is. My mods are in my sig. I was wondering if I did some slight weight reduction(spare tire, accessories, and what not). Could I edge it? I have beaten a new srt8 challenger from a 50 roll, and other various cars. Some vids, on my youtube http://http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=06MUSTANGGT24V&view=videos I got my automobile and motor trend mags in today, and both times are close. Automobile has it 13.4 at 109 with an auto and motor trend 13.0 at 111 with a manual. Figuring since this is about right since the auto has 26 less hp.
What do yall honestly think?
If its just going to be a ford burn, dont post it.

Being biased should have nothing to do with an objective comparison. OP, I give him a slight edge, especially at higher speeds. But I think if you can run him from a stop and really peg your driving, you might be able to make it interesting.

Actually the auto and the manual are going to be very close in the quarter. In fact even one magazine stated that the 0-60 time was better with the auto, but about one tenth slower than the manual in the quarter. Still very close. Good luck and have fun!

Yeah remember the auto GTO actually edged the manual in most magazine tests. Stock autos aren't always slower than stock manuals. Plus, the auto takes most of the driver factor out of it, so it won't really matter so much that he's an inexperienced driver in an unfamiliar car.
It's hard for me to call it, since the Camaro is still very new and I personally haven't driven one. I would say that by the numbers, he should beat you solidly from a roll or dig. But in the real world, who knows.

X2 by the numbers he should win both dig and roll, but this 'kid' may leave traction control on he may do a number of things, so like IRUN said, go from a dig so there is only more variables that he can mess up on and take the win!

Well the OP's 1000' times easily translate to high 12s/low 13s, which is in the same range as the tests we've seen from new Camaros. They will presumably go faster with experienced owners, but I definitely wouldn't call a "kid" who just bought the car experienced.

i would say that from a stand still the mustang might get him, from a roll id bet the SS... I love these 5TH gens but hate the big *** rims and craptastic tires in the back...If I ever get my hands on one its getting 17s and lowered. With some nice drag radials in the back...

I think from a dig it could be really close given your mods, but from a roll I think the Camaro might pull. The Camaro is pulling pretty hard in the 1/4 mile with a 109mph trap speed.

See the thing is, I wanna roll it, win or lose, I think it will be damn close. As I have said I pull a srt8 chally and they trap similar, so idk. Definitely will post a vid when this goes down. Oh, also the 10.94 was with out my O/R X! Thanks guys for all your honest opinions! LS! GUYS ROCK

OP - I think it will be close no matter how you race it....just go for it. Video it and then shove it in his trashtalking face if he keeps it up. LOL
And that 'kid' will probably wreck it in no time. "Kids" shouldn't be 'handed' these kinds of cars. Hell, even my 13 yr old daughter knows this.
