Default Do you think I can hit 11's on my street tires?

Mod list in sig, I'm running BFG G-Farce T/A KD's.
I'll be adding SFC's and a Panhard before I hit the track next Wednesday. Do you guys think I'll have a chance of hitting 11's?

Any dyno numbers? It's gonna be tough on those street tires with the kind of power you should be putting down on that setup. I hate to go pessimistic on you but I don't see it happening unless those are some godly Patriots and you can drive your *** off (and my experience with Patriots is that there are no such thing as "godly Patriots"). Good luck, though, and I hope you nail the 11-second pass!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that if I can get through first and second with minimal wheel spin it's possible. I think it's all going to come down to my launch...

What gears are you running? Anything steeper than 3.42s and I'm going to say you spin through first and second without issue.

Sounds like you need to work on that launch. A 2.0 60' with a 108-109 trap speed should hit bottom 13s without issue and unless they are totally shot, a 2.0 60' is fairly common on street tires with a little seat time. There are many people out there hitting 1.9s on street tires from time to time.

I've got the 3.42's in it. The guy I bought it from ran a 12.7 @ 118 and that was before the Ls6 intake, PnP TB, 42lber's, UD, straight pipes, SFC's, Panhard and tune. And he said he also spun through first in the process.

If I don't hit 11 hopefully I can hit a low 12, like low low 12... Who Knows, I'll just have to wait till next Wednesday!

It's gonna be tough, man, but good luck. I wouldn't count on it so you're not bummed if you don't, but that way if you do it will be unexpected. Tires are what you need. Tires and it will be no problem at all.

ET Street Radials or ET Streets? The regular ET Streets are bias-plies and you probably won't want to run those as your everyday tires, but the ET Street Radials are kickass. They don't last as long as Nittos but they hook a thousand times better. As far as stickiness goes, street tires < Nittos < ET Street Radials. As far as tread life goes, street tires > Nittos > ET Street Radials. Keep in mind that if you're running the stock 10-bolt, you're probably going to kill it on Nittos eventually and you almost certainly will quickly on the ET Street Radials.

no you won't. I'd say mid 12's is possible.

Yea ive tried everything except drag radials or slicks. I usually cut a 2.3-2.5 60ft just because no matter what I do when I go off the line. Even if I just roll out like im pulling out of a parking spot, as soon as I floor it the whole 1st gear just spins. Idk what else to do ahah

Air up the front tires to 40psi. Drop the rears to 20-22psi. Drive around the burnout box. Back up and straighten out. Don't run through the water at all! Street radials will hold the water in the tread and it'll get all over the starting line. You'll cut a horrible 60' and the guys behind you will be pissed. Drop it into 2nd gear and do a 2 or 3 second burnout...a few quick blips of the throttle with the rpm around 4,000. You just want to clean them off. A real burnout tends to make street radials "greasy" and they won't hook. Stage, then let enough clutch out so it's at the point of almost grabbing. That'll remove the "slop" in the drivetrain and it'll make the hit on the tires a little easier. Launch around 3,000rpm. Slip the clutch ride it out a bit. Get some traction then go WOT. You'll break lose so pedal it a few times then powershift 2nd gear. Keep it to the wood the entire tire from that point out. Powershift 3rd and 4th. Get back to the pit and enjoy your 1.9 60' on street tires and your new best ET.

Thanks Unit, I'm for sure going to take your advice. You might not be a bad guy after all. I intended on going around the wet box the whole time. I was out today practicing some launch's on a back road and feel I've got a good idea what to do so... My old man told me to try and leave out of 2 but on the street it just didn't pull hard enough.

Thanks for the ideas guys, I'll keep you posted!

Don't start in 2nd gear. That's a bad piece of advice. Sorry Dad.

I actually did this in a street race one time with two 250lb guys in my back seats so I could hook up on my bald 17" Nittos. It was against a M6 02 cammed SS Camaro. The Camaro made 40xrwhp. I was in my Procharged Cobra with 4.30 gears and I still beat him. My clutch however did not like that idea AT ALL.
