unless you are engineers that actually were involved in designing the block you can't tell me anything. One thing I have noticed is the bunch of know-it-alls on this board. The fact is I won't get into my reasons because YOU KNOW IT ALL so from now on I'll keep to myself. The fact is there are differences in the block. Materials, etc. The fact that you know everything shows your level of education. There are somethings involved in this subject you haven't the faintest clue about. So good luck with your elementary theories.
Ok I'm good.
no wait....AHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAH AHA

cant you see he knows everything he needs.. hes been on this site for 6 months.. and im sure owned an fbody for at least a year!
seems like some of us kinda hit in on the head... not much experience with these cars..
its a fact that the ls6 block alone nets you nothing... now put ls6 heads/ls6 cam in.. of course you will get more horsepower...
why dont you read the stickies?

or get the 241s ported. honestly if your on a tight budget on a streetcar its not worth gains to have to buy another set of castings especially pricey 243s. the 241 especially when ported aren't that bad. don't get me wrong i haven't done direct comparisons myself but from others results that is my conclusion. for a reference, i have a bit experience porting heads including 241 and 5.3l heads, unfortunately both my pontiac's heads are uncut.
just my .02
just my .02

I think you guys putting down 320 rwhp had happy dynos.
I was just at a dyno day, dyno is not happy or low, reads pretty accurate. my car is a 99 formula, bone stock with 132k miles. my friends car is an 02 vette, bone stock with 30k miles.
im the red run, hes the green run.
I have no idea why I have so much more low end torque than he does but the hp and tq numbers are still pretty close. I would say LS1s were all around 345-355 hp.
