Default How much power should I make?

I'm trying to guess about how much power I'm making to the crank. I have a '00 TA and mods are as follows:

K&N filter, mti clear air lid, TB bypass, Hooker lt's, ory, electronic cutout, and slp dual dual catback. Also, I DON'T have a tune. The previous owner said it had upgraded pulleys, but idk about that.

How much hp/tq should i make without it being dyno tuned, and how much if i WERE to get it tuned??

I would guess around 380hp. A dyno tune will run about $500 and you should wait till you have upgraded more to make it worth the money.

380 Crank?

My guess would be ~335rwhp 350rwtq on a dynojet

Yeah, 380 is high for a ls1 with no cam. I'd say it would be close to quickblue2's estimate.

you can factor in a 20% drivetrain loss for auto cars and a 15% for stick cars.

My bolt on auto put down 343/343 untuned, using the standard loss numbers that would put me at around 400+ crank hp...20% of 343 being ~68 hp

so 380 crank is not a bad number to estimate with those mods.

Yeah, I mean crank hp. It's also an auto. The reason I ask is because I have a friend who has a 100% bone stock auto '05 GTO. I was wondering if I would be on par with him speed-wise after these mods.

You being serious, or just trying to ruffle some feathers? This slow dog ran a 12.61 @ 112 with just bolt ons on a slipping stock clutch. A buddy of mine went 11.8's cam only. Dog? Hardly...

I'm guessing 390 - 400 at the crank. If it were an M6 I would guess around 345 to the wheels so maybe 330 for an auto since they dyno lower.

i think it will be in the 350-360 at the crank. and wait and tune it until you do a stall and/or cam

this is true i can vouch for him!!!!

but i guesstimate would be the 350 to 360 range. prolly just over 300 at the wheels.

had a buddy that was a stick car that put down 340rwhp with those same kind of mod's in his 02 camaro.

imo i disagree with waiting on the tune....UNLESS u plan on modding it more in the near future. but a tune would make a difference on even a bone stock car. hell, some shops just have you pay the full price for the tune the first time, and every tune after is way cheaper, or might even be free like mine! lol my cousin got 25-30rwhp out of his tune on his bone stock gto.

Anyone else have any input? I was REALLY hoping for around 400hp to the crank. If I do infact have 380 to the crank, what can i do that's cheap and quick to gain that extra 20?

ur gonna make 400 at the crank, if ur on a stock converter its going to dyno higher b/c of the lockup, you'll have to put it in 3rd for your 1:1 ratio in the tranny and then let her rip, it should make around 340 locked up with would get you around 400 at the crank.

good luck and let us know how she does.
