What Will My Car Run In A 1/8th?
#22
Yea I forgot to add that. I do all my burnouts in 2nd gear too. If you feel your car trying to bog down while you are doing your burnout that means your tires are trying to stick and they are ready to go.

I don't know how it is with an automatic but with a manual I just put it in 2nd, rev it up, and dump the clutch while on the brake. You get them alot hotter faster that way than in 1st gear.

I have been told by several transmission places DO NOT LET A 4l60 HOOK IN 2nd GEAR doing a burnout.
As far as Hoosier drag radials from what I've heard they are very sticky. Several guys on the chevelle board say they are just as sticky as slicks.
Not sure about the Quick Time Pro, but the regular quick time series are not even recommened to do much of a burnout, just a break in burnout after they are mounted and then just a quick spin to clean them before each run.

lol they will let you do a burnout if you are on street tires. Where did you hear that from? And you have to back up into the water box at Greer. However I hate that track and no one should go there expecting to run good times.

Last time i was there another dude driving told me they won't let you burn out on street tires because it'll get water in the tread and make you spin and ulitmatley put your car in the wall. Maybe he meant just on the water strip, i suppose you can burn out off the water strip tho?
lol i tried to drive over the water strip when i was runnin my truck and ended up spinnin tires all the way down the track

Yea you definately should keep away from the water box. For you guys that don't know this is a hillbilly track that has standing water in a pit rather than an area of wet ground. lol Once there I watched someone do a burnout IN the water pit. It was hilarious! Water went everywhere! Needless to say that old man that does the lanes was PISSED!
