95 GT mustang, bullshit or not
Hello friends, it's been a while since I posted. Here is the rundown of the situation.
His car:
95 GT, Heads, Cam, bolt ons, geared,...uhh 19s? Also, it's yellow, so I'm sure there is a horsepower figure for that as well.
No longer running a 150 shot.
On bottle, apparently he was running "low" 10s? Off bottle he says it probably runs low 12s. He said he made 550 rwhp on bottle.
Now, I'm not a mustang guy, so forgive my ignorance. Does that even sound possible, let alone, in my wonderfully above sea level state of Arizona? I know it takes some SERIOUS coin and thinking to get one of those engines making any respectable horsepower, let alone NA.
Also, I would like to know where he got a 150 shot that knocks a solid 2 seconds off his E.T.
Yay or nay on this being bullshit?

95 or 96? big difference there, entirely different motor. i know a friend of mine with a 95 runs 11.9x in hers on motor (h/c/i 306) and i'm sure would crack a high 10 on a 150 shot, so it's possible, he also might be underestimating what the car runs on motor. those 302's do take very well to dope though, about like ls1's in that respect

Not to sound patronizing, but does your DA and/or elevation compare to our AZ conditions? ~2700 is considered a normal DA, and most people don't even bother racing seriously in the summer (at least NA).
Also, I can believe the times your friend ran, but do you know what she put down to the wheels?
Finally, a slight tangent, not trying to derail my own thread, but would the 4.6 do better or worse mod for mod against the 302? I have my ideas, but they are probably biased.

I would rather have the 5.0 motor anyday, mods are soooo much cheaper and you can get better power NA with an all out build, plus the option is there for a 347 stroker

That guy is bull chitting you.
I say low 11's on spray. Ask him is incrementals (i.e. 60', 330', 1/8th, etc.)

It would take a LOT to make that car a low 12 sec car with true 5.0L/302CID...so, I'm sayin' he full oh ****....or you not knowing the entire story (on his behalf).
It'd take a 306-331 less weight than a GTS, gears, suspension setup, HCI, etc. to run that N/A...IMO......in your area.

I'm fully aware what rwhp numbers should be running/trapping in the 1/4, it's just a matter if he was bullshitting or not. More than likely the bullshit factor is dialed up to about an 8 out of 11.
Do you have an opinion on the credibility of his story?

**** this guy. Is it Yellow, black stripes, loud as hell (no exhaust) and sounds like ****? I think I have seen him twice. Once, I was walking up to Blockbuster, and he was driving in front of the plaza, reving the **** out of it trying to be a bad ***. Second time was today...if its the same car, he was pulling out of a subdivision adjacent to my apt complex..I am talking 1/4 mile from me. Should we try to set something up with this guy
