why not just pick up a 08-09 used GT and do the same mods. at least you wouldnt have to drive around V6 mustang like every other wanna be racer out there. Not to mention hearing a V6 mustang or V6 fbody with dual exhaust makes me throw up.

1. The nitrous comes OFF EASILY for warranty work.
2. Who's gonna notice a subtle stall converter....
3. The stealth of a v6 car easily outweighs a v8...
Who thinks a lowly v6 is gonna cover their bolton ls1... Yeah yeah yeah.... Give the v6 shitbox 5 and the hit... LOL... ka-CHING!
This is (dig)street racing NOT roll racing.
4. Not many cars out there yet for people to base et's on... Just mag crap.
Brand loyalty is such childish bullshit imo. I buy the best bang/buck.
A very low 12 sec/ very high 11 sec. v6 ford could make some serious cash in the short term.

They won't ever get the respect of a V8, the sad truth, but they shouldn't.
...but there would be nothing sweeter than embarrassing some kid in his "fast car" with a V6. I say go for it, not to mention the MPG's ain't too shabby either! Down the road, blower = possible 11s and keep daily driving manners...IF the low end can take it, I am not too informed on the strength of that.

So you're going to mod a car that you'll also be making payments on? Good luck with that. If you're new to nitrous then you'll probably get greedy. You'll want it properly tuned, and if you grenade the engine I'm willing to bet that some of the techs will be able to pick out the tell tale signs of a nitrous install. You'll need a proper stall converter, not some el-cheapo so look into spending about $800 on a really good quality converter + a bigger trans cooler to keep the bigger stall happy.
If you really want to get a nitrous'd V6 go ahead. I don't get the same respect as the V8's by some, but some people are genuinely impressed by the work I put into my car and the overall quality of the build. I'll always get ribbed about not having a V8 or missing two cylinders etc, etc. I'm just doing it to have fun
If you're seriously intent on spending the coin, you can find some older car and make it your pet project. That way you're not out $30K in payments on a car that you're about to rag out.

OP, I see where you're coming from since I had an '08 six banger that held its own on the street against bolt-on LS1's. But honestly, if you're looking to mod it just get a 3v S197 GT. Will probably get better power per mod (haven't seen any aftermarket results from the new 3.7) although lower gas mileage. If you were looking for just a ballsy little DD with good MPG's, then I'd suggest a new V6.

LOL... Yeah... I'm that kinda guy... I also put a Lingenfelter 383 in an Astrovan back in the 90's ...low 12's on a 125 shot...... $$$ for me... We also had a 100% stock appearing 96 IMPALA SS goin' well into the 10's on 17" RADIALS... 400hp hit plumbed UNDER the LT1 intake... solenoids behind the battery in the fender... How fast could THAT be... a normally aspirated LT1 in a 4500 lb car... The Imp is on youtube somewhere... 10.86@12x ON STOCK 17" rims.
I have moved on from my crappy 400whp 00 Camaro to a little 4 cyl. 4 dr. Mitsu. as my DD. I'd like to bump into your "supernova" with my 4 cyl. turd. lol and we're close enough it could happen! Last year the Mitsu only went a 12.59@109. Now I'm off the stock turbo and cams.... hmmmm... (Bring CASH. DIG RACE.)
