So much demand that they didnt produce them in 2003? I dont know anyone that paid over msrp on a car model thats been out for 3 years already.
Can you imagine how stupid someone would have to be to pay over msrp on a 2013 camaro if they dont change anything from 2010.
Kevin be real man.

Do you want me to post non-anniversary additions? I could post prices for the Anniversary addition 2004 Cobra (Most of the Cobras I listed were 2003) if you want to make it a bit more "even" The only thing I did was do a search, and put the top 5 most expensive cars for those models and listed them.
Sorry, I just did a search for Z28 Camaros. Do you think that a Trans Am is going to cost less? Especially now you can't buy new ones? If anything, the price of 98-2002 TransAms have went UP
Again, would you like me to post more?
I posted 4-5 cars from each group with similar miles and similar prices. Again, if you want me to post the 2004 Anniversary Cobra instead of the 2003s I posted I can.
Once GM announced they were killing them off, the market for them changed dramatically.
No, but then again they are making Camaros again. Back in 2002 when they still had new Z28s in the lot, those were the last time people thought that they would be able to get a Camaro. And figured it would be a collectors item. This raised the demand. Dealers started pricing them above MSRP. Ask me how I know. Go ahead.
You said something about a low mileage trans am. I could find no trans am
There are also no other ls1 cars in that range.
Your average clean fbody will be at the same price as a high mileage cobra.

Now lets look at 2002-2004 Z06 prices.
Used 2003 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
$37,995
Used 2003 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
$37,500
Used 2003 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
$37,000
Used 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
$35,500
Now which car is the Cobra closer to in price? The Z06 or the Fbodies?

I live in the MOV. Within 100 miles of that area.
Supply and Demand. The Cobras I posted were also from around here. Had I posted the price of Camaros around here, then posted the price of Cobras elsewhere, where the cars are located would matter. But since they both come from the same area...
So you are agreeing with me? 15-18k is close in price. A lot closer than the 30+k the Z06 is.
Again.. I don't know why I am even arguing this. Ford itself said the 03/04 Cobra was made to compete against the fbodies. So for anyone to say otherwise, well that's pretty darn silly. As if they know better than the people that designed and marketed the car.
The 03/04 Cobra was not meant to be a "Z06 killer" in any way. It's not even in the same league of car. The 03/04 Cobra is a NewEdge Mustang with a IRS, 4vs and a supercharger.
I looked up the camaros in that area and they were much more expensive than the ones from around here.
Around here the more expensive ls1 fbodys are around 15-18k. The cheapest u can find a cobra around here is 18k. Thats what im going by.

Those cars are only really close in speed. This is why Ford itself claimed it was made.
While in production, SVT had codenamed this model the "Terminator" since it was supposed to finally put an end to any competition between the Cobra and the Trans Am / Camaro
It being close to the speed of the Z06 was only a plus.
If Ford put out the Termi to compete with the Z06.. they did a HORRIBLE job.
Yes, yes it was. Also look at the prices for low mileage well kept LS1 Fbodies. Especially the T/A against low mileage well kept Cobras. They are going for about the same price.

They had put out many models to compete with the fbody that did a HORRIBLE job (performance wise), why would it surprise you?
Back in 2002 the LS1 fbodies a lot of the times were being sold OVER MSRP. Most were being sold for 28 to 32k. It was a supply and demand thing.
They've actually held pretty much equal up until 2010. Supply and demand. You couldn't buy a new Camaro. So those that were still around, that had low miledge sold for almost as if it was a new car.
Check my links above.

Cobra has held its value WAY better than the fbody.
The Zo6! Lets talk AVERAGES!!!
Lets just assume (for the years) that the mileage is relatively low-mid range... Condition is near excellent, no problems, no mods, etc..
Fbody- 8-10K
Cobra- 16-18K
Zo6- 18-20K
I look at fbodys on the regular as well as (especially in the last few months) Corvettes.. I know their prices VERY good. I was looking for a Cobra for a buddy a few months back. I know AVERAGE prices for all three cars. Are some more/less expensive? Sure.. But saying that the Cobra is closer to the fbody now in price is just dumb. Again, why would people cross shop (or upgrade) to a Zo6/Cobra if they weren't so close in price?
----If anybody talks about AVERAGES and the NORMAL for things.. Keep it fair across the board, not what makes your argument stronger. I see it all the time someone says "average" and gives the top/bottom 10% of whatever they are talking about.

2003 Ford CobraBase Price: $37,545
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...bra/index.html
The lowest I've seen a Cobra go for was $34k. Therefore:
Camaro Z28: Roughly $21,000
Mustang GT: Roughly $21,000
Cobra: Roughly $36,000
Not much more expensive?

I've already posted used and new prices for both cars. And yes, dealer markup DOES matter. If there are two cars on the lot with similar prices regardless how the prices have gotten there, they compete.
Again, Ford itself said the Termi was made to compete with the LS1 fbody market. That's pretty much the end of that argument.
Unless someone is going to argue that they know better about the Termi than Ford does.

I have to say that it cracks me up to see the F-Body guys lump the 03-04' Cobra's in with Corvette instead of F-Body's.
Last time I looked; my 03' Cobra was still just a Mustang

Regardless it's something that should never have been argued about. Ford clearly stated why they put out said car. And it was to compete against other LS1 fbodies out there. And no, not just in sales.
