If I remember correctly, there was a member who did a LS2 cam in his MCSS, got a lot of noise, and didn't gain much. I believe another member did one also, and didn't get much either.

No one really has done a successful cam swap and laid down great power and 1/4 mile times. Mongoose makes pretty good power, but he's spent a ton of cash and I don't think he's ran the 1/4 mile yet.

The noise issue I'm not sure what it was. It's an older post from a couple years ago. Just have to find the right combination of parts. Research it in our section, there's a bit of info you can find that pertains to this cam.

That's not an LS6 cam if the intake and exhaust you posted are correct.

I'd be more interested in using the 2000 LS1 Corvette cam with some 1.8 rockers.
P/N 12560968 (Y car cam)
198/209 115.5 LSA
.500/.500 1.7 Valve lift .529/.529 with 1.8's

Peak power at 5600 RPM in the LS1, and in a LS4 I'd say 5800 peak with a 6200-6300 shift.
Nice.. mild.. cheap, non DOD, cam for our engines. I'm sure we would see 25-30 whp with this cam and rockers.

Good luck with that. Unless you use an engine dyno.

I don't see any reason in putting an off the shelf cam of any sort in these cars. The money you will be spending will be on supporting mods, parts, and labor rather than the camshaft itself (in the scheme of things). There's really no reason not to wait another month and save up the money you need to have a reputable shop, or comp, spec out a custom grind for you.

In Louisiana? Give Pat G or EPS a call. They make some of the BEST cam only numbers with LSx engines.

Patrick G is in Victoria TX, south of Houston. He's a mod here. He has the quickest N/A G8GT out there.
