Default ET time genius', chime in please.

01 Z28 6spd, only actual mods are a muffler delete, AC delete, and a lid/K&N filter. First time Ive ever ran an M6 down the track, traction was a major issue on launching (nexen N3000's...) but my biggest problem was missing gears. The car had 135k when I got it, it runs and shifts great around town but lastnight was the first time I had the car over 5k, and it DID NOT want to shift. My best time was a 14.04 but with a trap of 103.4 so I know the car has the power...it's just being stubborn. Don't know if it's the clutch or my synchros but something isn't right...

Can anyone estimate what I could do w better tires and NOT missing a shift?

first thing is more seat time. try taking it up to 5k on the street and see if you still have the same problem. Was it hard in every gear? I had a problem like that and it was a bad brand new flywheel. first pratice. you also didn't say anything about your 60'

My 60's were consistently between 2.2 and 2.5

Oh and also it was just second and third gear that were giving me trouble. And it does happen on the street too, tried it on some on ramps this afternoon

Could be a leaking slave cylinder, could be you just need a tick master cylinder. The clutch pedal was pretty much on the floor when trying to shift from 2nd to 3rd right?

with your mods and the 60' it seems normal to me. work on the 60'. and put fresh fluid in the mastercylinder. do a search on ranger and you'll see how to change the fluid good.

Sounds like you need to replace the slave cylinder. I had the same issue with my old SS. I could quick-granny shift though just fine.

Yeah, also found out my trans mount was torn, and my torque arm bushing is in horrible shape so that could explain the 'shifter hitting a wall' feeling I had. But yeah it's the same thing in my car, around town/on the highway I can run through the gears like nothing's wrong but as soon as I go WOT or try to shift over 4k... No go.

But I've got poly trans/torque arm mounts going in today so we'll so how much that improves things
