Who can solve the world's problems on the cheap?

Post your dyno graph and the amount invested. I wonder if Ebay is gonna be a winner here

LOL LOL...I was actually being serious but it's good to have a laugh.. I just think it's interesting when a person spends 15k on a decent engine that runs 7's in the 1/8 and then you get a guy who buys a junkyard LS1 for $400, throws some head studs and some spray on it and runs 6.30s. Most people may not want to give up how much they spent on making the hp because they aren't the $400 LS guy but we'll see.

Yea you right. I think about that too. The same thought could be said about import builds. Where I live the import crowd are always so quick to say that imports are built alot cheaper than LS or Ford builds. There are few exceptions that this may be true. But that can said about any build too. However I tell anyone that I refuse to believe that every import build is done cheap. Honestly, I believe majority of builds aren't cheap. Too many variables are involved in doing builds dealing with parts, labor, what the customer wants, etc. I say just because so and so built his application with less than 3-4K invested and running 11s and 10s in the 1/4 doesn't mean the next guy should assume all he have to spend is 3-4K on his build. I know I spent quite a bit of money on my car to get it where it's at. Could I got it done cheaper? Possibly yes. But trying to get it done cheaper wasn't the point. I wanted something fast and reliable.

This man is wise... then again if you have time to build something you can pick up some pretty wicked stuff in the classifieds.

That's not necessarily true anymore and one of the reasons for the thread. As an example, the LS engines are really strong from the factory and cheap to buy in a junkyard. Combine that with the fact that you can tune the factory ECU for several hundred dollars, fab up turbo manifolds from reversed stock truck manis and all of the sudden you put some E85 in the tank have 700hp at the tire. That certainly performs, is affordable, and in most cases, reliable.

Again, I respectfully ask that if you don't have anything relevant to the original post please use another thread. Thanks!
