Default HCI 2000 SS vs HCI 2006 GTO

Well I got flamed for putting this in the wrong section, so lets see what happens here lol.

I wanna get your thoughts on the possible outcome of this race. Me (mods is sig) vs a buddy with a 06 GTO that makes 500 rwhp n/a, and about 600 rwhp on a 100 shot. Not sure what mine makes now that it's starting to break in, and on a good Dynojet dyno, but i'm guessing an honest 450-460 rwhp n/a and 550 ish on a 100 shot. His numbers were on a Dynojet btw. Both cars are a M6, with me having 4.10's and him with the stock 3.42's. Figure my weight around 3500-3550 lbs, and him around 3800-3850 lbs. I'm figuring he has a good 40-50 hp on me, but with stock gears and a good 300 lbs heavier. Assuming equal drivers what do you all think?

Sounds like it'll be a great run. I think you'll edge him out with the weight advantage though. Get a video!

On the highway I would assume he has the edge on you.
Use those 4.10s to your advantage and race him from a stop or a low roll If you can hook up. That way he has to work for it . If he has the power to reel you in. ..

Good luck brotha!

Thanks guys, and since we both are on 555R's and stock suspension we will probably do a 2nd gear roll. On the sauce I can't hook whatsover from 2nd (not sure about the goat) so unfortunately it will have to be from 3rd. The GTO is running some high dollar Mast heads, a FAST 92, and a big custom cam just a tad bigger than mine. He says the car needs a gear bad when running n/a. Even with 4.10's in mine I wouldn't want less of a gear to be honest. I think the stock 3.42's would suck with my setup lol, so i'm imagining the goat with the extra 300 lbs and 3.42's will be even worse

Bestlude, you have 4.10's and a similar build. Can you hook from 2nd on nitrous?

500rwhp on what I assume is a stock shortblock means it's a pretty radical setup making power up top, so I agree that you might get spanked on the highway but the lower the speed you go from the better chance you have of keeping him from catching you eventually.

I haven't tried spraying in 2nd with the new DR's (NTo5R's).
On my street tires I did obviously and at the time I would run all motor until I was in 3rd. Then flip the bitch switch. That seemed to work great for me.

I would also like to spray in 2nd. Hoping I can hook up next time I try it.

Gotcha! Those NTO5R's are a tad stickier than the 555R, so it just might be enough...or at least you won't just blow the tires off like I do lol

Redtan, yes it is about the most radical, high dollar setup you can do on a stock LS2. I believe the heads alone were close to 3 grand

oh yeah. All motor, Even with 4.10s, I cant break them loose from 20 roll or shifting into 2nd (That's right, I said CANT) lol.. From a stop i barely spin, mostly being minor wheel hop for about a second and then im gone .

But sounds promising just from those test hits that I "should" have enough sticky icky for a 2nd gear nitrous start. But we'll see (knock on wood)

That sounds perfect actually. When I get some 17 x 11's for the rear i'll probaby throw on some 315 Toyo Proxes TQ dr's myself. I had them on my Mustang and I really liked them compared to the 555R's. They lasted just as long as the 555R, but had better grip
