Default '14 Chevy SS A6 vs '02 LS1 SS A4

Hey guys, my buddy and I plan to run our cars next week at our local 1/4 mile and we're unsure as to who will have the edge. My friend has a '14 SS A6, stock other than a Roto-Fab CAI.

My car is an '02 Camaro SS, full bolt-ons, 3600 stall and NT05R DR's. I think it could be close, but I feel that I should be able to get him if I can get a good launch. I feel his car would be able to pull on me if we went past the 1/4 mile mark or from a roll, but I'm really not 100% sure.

Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks

With your 3600 stall TC.....you have a REAL chance to take him.

But he should be laying down mid-350's to mid-360's HP to the wheels.

You will work him over good. He will probably run around 13.0 and you should be low low 12's 12.2 maybe.

He is also a lot heavier than you are. I say you put a bus and a half on him

Haha, cool. Sounds like he'll be driving home upset, we've been going back and forth over our cars for months now.

Thanks again.

Agree with this. You can check my sig for how a bolt-on SS3600 car runs here on the 1/4 mile high prairie. East Coast DA should give you another .15 easy.

I've seen plenty of stock G8 GXP passes, and they tend to go about 13.3 around here. As long as you hook, you'll smoke him badly. To that end, Mickey's will serve you much better than the NTO5's.

2014 SS stock and not broken in runs sub-13 seconds.

I'm thinking this SS will run about 12.7'ish.

Man! 12.3? That's moving. My last time out a couple years ago with just full bolt-ons and stock stall/street tires I ran a 13.3-13.5 I believe? If I could get down in the deep 12s I'd be very happy. I read about the ET Streets but decided on the 05R's because they seemed to be a little better on the street.

I ran 12.2@111mph with Lt headers, yank ss3600 and 3.73's on mt et streets.

I have also ran Nt05r's, you will probably end up around 17 psi and make sure to get those tires nice and hot..... Let the smoke roll for a good 3-5 seconds

Sorry for not updating sooner. They wouldn't let me run at my local drag strip because I didn't have a drive shaft loop so we drove to Mexico.

We went from 25 the first time and 35 the second time. Pulled on him hard both times, he claimed that he started to come back around 100 mph but not that I saw lol.

Yup, you all were dead on. He's wanting to do LT's and a tune now so this means I'm going to have to do a cam, I can't allow him to beat me haha
