Dyno numbers!
hello. I am new to the engine building and I'm curious what you will think I will be pushing when I get on the dyno.
I'm currently on the break in process for the motor I just built. its in a 02 trans am M6 car.
Mods:
5.3L iron block bored to a 5.7L
forged internals.
compression ratio 10.6.1 or 10.8.1 I forgot
TSP 225cc heads w/ .660 dual springs
Torquer V4 Cam
LS6 oil pump (not really a mod)
adjustable timing chain (not really a mod)
LS7 lifters
hardened pushrods from TSP
LS6 intake and TB set up.
SLP lid
BBK longtube headers (no Cats)
LS7 Clutch
T56
if I'm forgetting any mods please let me know.
keep inmind I'm in Yuma Az. Daily temp of 120 easily everyday here lol. and id say roughly 20-30% humidity daily here.
My goal overall is I think 460-470ish. do you think that's obtainable with the mods I got? I think I might be "that guy" with my wish list of power. but I think with the Mods I have I think it should somewhat be obtainable with maybe a injectors upgrade and Fast 92/92 set up. but like I said this is the first motor ive built. So I could be completely off lol.

this is gonna sound really retarded but. Can you explain to me exactly what porting is? Is it opening up the hole of let's say the intake to match exactly the size of the head intake port? Or is it like smoothing it out to make it flow faster?? Lol. I get kind of confused what exactly porting is?

damn ok. Another question should I be running bigger injectors for this set Up? I've heard our systems are normally good for around 450rwhp injector wise and pump. Which I planned on replacing my injectors with bigger ones and the fuel pump if I'm gonna change my intake. Because I have around 143k miles on the odometer

would it be worth getting a port job on a LS6 intake w/ a 92tb or would I most likely be better off with a FAST 92/92 combo?

Realistically you are much better off getting the Fast. For what it's going to cost to get the LS6/92tb combo, you could just sell it instead and do the Fast intake, and even get that ported as well

However, I have a Peak Ported LS6 with a 90mm TPiS snout on my 91RS with a small cam 383 LS1 stroker. In back to back dyno testing on the same day same temp same barometric pressure same water temperature on a calibrated dyno the tricked out LS6 made better hp and better torque average and peak. It beat the Fast LSX by 3 peak hp and beat LSXRT by 2 hp and beat both with area under the curve at all rpm. Only way to ever know for sure is testing. We were all shocked at the outcome. Everyone had bet on how much the trick LS6 would lose vs the other intakes. Some people get upset when they read about this I usually suspect they are trying to sell an LSXRT that didn't live up to expectations or had driveability issues.
With that said, for a big cam high rpm motor I too think the Fast intakes will do best. Your cam in your 346 LS1 is bigger than what my LS1 383 has and so would expect more rpm out of your motor so the Fast should be the better choice with the build you have in your TA. The Fast 92 correctly ported would be my choice for your TA with the current set up.
BTW - that LS7 Clutch is heavy and something like a McCloud RXT Twin Disc will in my opinion and experience will drive better, hold better, live longer and make more power.
I too would upgrade to a new fuel pump and bigger injectors. The stock set up when NEW and in excellent condition could stretch and support 450 sometimes even 470 hp BUT that was 15 years ago. With 143,000 miles on that pump, I would replace it anyway before it fails and strands you somewhere. As preventive maintenance my 99TA got a new Racetronix fuel system at just over 150,000 miles.

For the FAST 92 set up how is the fitment? Will the stock coolant Passover pipe work with this set up? And what about the sensors and vaccum ports still OEM? No issues?

well my dyno numbers are in! honestly I think they are super low for the amount of money/ time and the kind of parts I have in it. the results came in as 389hp/363Tq
it was about 101 degrees outside/ and about 12% humidity. now I thought on a M6 T/A your suppose to be doing pulls from 4th gear is this correct?
he did say that my injectors were at 97% duty cycle rate which I figured I was going to be needing bigger injectors. which ill be going with that and a Fast 92 most likely. eventually. but do those dyno numbers seem accurate?

Dynojet, timing was set at 24 or 26. Don't remember which one. And air fuel is 12.1
