Default Couple questions about MA inspection

First, I'm not asking for anyone to "hook me up with an easy inspection".

I've got pacesetter headers and a catted y-pipe, along with a slowhawk tune, so no codes showing.

I'm confident I will pass emissions, but what is the likelihood that they visually fail me for aftermarket exhaust modifications?

Also, my tires are borderline worn out... any suggestions for a good everyday, 3 season tire? I'm on stock 16 inch 10 spokes.

Thanks

with cats and a magnaflow catback you shouldnt have an issue but defiently get tires on there so as not to even give them a reason to look deeper. its kinda an insult to show up with crappy tires and ask for a sticker so then they dig deeper. bfg's are very good tires and can find a broad price range depending on what you want out of the tires or even some kumhos are decent

I run these tires on my 17" rims:

I drive about 25k miles a year. Pretty good budget all season /performance tire. In fact I'm on my 2nd set now.

I haven't had any problems getting inspected in MA. I have LT's, cat'd Y & magnaflow.

depends on the shop, I had 1 place tell me my borla is now illegal in the state so I went some where else w/ no problems.
Im on my 3rd season on avon M550's and love 'em, their rated pretty high and their cheap @ $89/tire. im a 3 season guy too but they even have decent snow ratings just in case. these tires blow bfg's away btw

This info doesn't really help you but I thought it was interesting, changes to MA inspections last year:

http://massvehiclecheck.state.ma.us/...howchange.html

However, starting on October 1, 2008, the Program was updated in some significant ways:
......
Vehicles made in model years 1995 and older no longer receive a tailpipe emissions test, but are checked for visible smoke during their safety inspection.
I believe 1995 and older don't have OBDII so no codes to worry about. And then no tailpipe emission test.

So if you want to put some extreme mods on a car and pass MA inspection looks like its easier on a 1995 and older car.

i have obd1 tuning, so there is no SES light on. So i guess as long as i have no codes, i will pass?

Guess i need to fix my airbag light then
