Are you kidding? Please tell me you are kidding. If not, sell the car if you havnt already, obviously who ever is working/driving this car is clueless if it slowed down going to an automatic.

Parasitic loss from an auto I will give you. However, ability to build boost at the line and loose none between shifts far out weighs any loss from ditching the manual.

Under your logic we better go tell all the boys that are boosted in the NMRA to ditch those automatics and put a manual in to go faster. Bet those drag radial class boys will love for you to teach them your launch and shifting techniques and really lay down some fast times.

I have owned plenty of Mustangs, but dealing with stupidity pushed me into a LS1 just to get away from the clowns.
I think what the Chef meant was that the heavier auto added significant weight, was a custom-job that had no templates to go off of, and took some getting used to for me at the track the first time out....high tens @ around 130 leaving on the footbrake in a full-weight Cobra on 15-16 lbs of boost is not bad for the FIRST EVER RUN DOWN THE TRACK....unlike the LS drivers, we are not all God's gift to drag racing....I left at under 4k and was getting used to car, geezuz...some people need to calm down and drop a Xanax or two.... I hot-lapped it and ran almost the same time and mph before someone let loose on the track, and we called it a night....

The automatic went in because I had big bracket-racing plans for the car that were unfortunately cut short by a job loss....end of story. It was fun while it lasted, and it was fast enough for me at the time.

Hell, I will wear one down there for that, too....there are more GM's and Supras running at that track rental than Mustangs, anyways....
