R.I.P. No pinks all out 2011.

Just read speed has cancelled the 2011 season. I was at the pinks at VMP (VA.). Its a pretty big blow to drag racing IMHO. The 400 tickets for racers sell out in 2 to 3 minutes. Then god knows how much money the track makes for the additional $150.00. Really they don't pay crap... especially this last year. 10-20k is nothing compared to what they make off the show.
Wonder what the real reason for cancelling the show is?

Pinks All Out is the pinks show. It evolved from pinks to pinks and Pinks all outtake to Pinks all out.
If they evolve anymore.. IMO they need to focus more on real street cars instead of the trailer queens (racecars) that follow the circus around.

I think they finally realized there is flaws in the arm drop. Without using the lights to start the cars it's impossible to see a perfect reaction. Too many things to go wrong.

I'd prefer to see a return to more like the original show where it was two cars (real cars) and not 64 drag cars vying for the show coverage. I'm not a fan of Rich by any means but he did get it all started in the beginning with even his limited knowledge base on cars. If they can't do it anymore we ought to have 1320video do their own show! Kyle! Get on it!

I like the All out format and hate it at the same time. Meaning EVERYONE of those episodes I watch, and I could be wrong but generally your seeing between 9-10 second class. Which becomes a glorified bracket race.
Ofcourse insiders talk to other people and people build towards that expectation and only a fraction get on the show.
I am sure some Ham and Eggers just signed up to Test and Tune, hoping to make the show. Which IMO waste valuable slots for those who may have a car that can make the show.
Then the old format made me mad as people would bring a 1800$ Fox Body mustang against a 20k Fbody and where is the incentive to put up your stack of cash vs there POS.
IMO Pinks grew too big, they need to be a SMALL show, with MAYBE 4-6 Shows a year focus on racing for cars. Also getting interesting matches with people who will bring quality cars they own, not thrown together heaps.

i liked the show in the beginning. seems it was less drama and more focus on the cars/drivers. this past season it was more like jerry springer. i was at the one at Maple Grove this past year were the track tech guy wanted rich to re-run a car that clearly went in deep. then the finals the guy had a bye run but he jumped the arm drop.

I liked the show but not too much. What interests me is real STREET CARS on a 1/4 mile track running 11s, 12s, and 13s, because its real cars that are tagged and driveable and i can relate to them. I really hated how most of the cars were just all out trailer queen drag cars. But hey, to each their own right?

I like the new concept and the old. I hate the old when its a race that consists of 4 car lengths to at one point i think there was a 15 car length race. That is rediculous. What I think they need to do is go back to the original format, BUT have one of the tech guys within the crew do a thorough inspection of the car so when they say ''its only a 13 second truck/car'', and its a 11 second....That atleast woudl make it more of a race. I know this would be far fetched but I started to like the new format b/c of the bs 10 car length races and all.
Though the new format pisses me off b/c I know its not as fun, but id love to see 11-12second cars, atleast those are more realistic street cars and not like they always do 10sec or below.
