Default New Daily/Tow Rig

This is what happens when I get bored in the winter...

I had a lot of fun with my silverado ss and it was a fantastic truck, but got to great of a deal on this truck to pass it up. I've had it for about a week now and the 6.2l/6speed auto seems to be a good setup. Better mpg than my old 6.0 and the truck is so much nicer, no comparison. Can't wait to see how it tows come april. Need to figure out how to get around gm knowing I tuned the truck though...
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, but when it's 30 degrees out im not to fussy!

Gm isn't gonna find out you tuned it unless you have it in for a major engine or trans failure then GM requires the tech to send them the calibration IDs. And they can tell now how many times it has been flashed. Just get a second ECM and leave it stock. They are cheap.

Nice Truck I work at a GMC dealer and the Denali's are nice Almost no issues with the 6.2 or the 6speed

dschmittie you wouldn't have access to that second pcm would you?? lol

The truck recommends premium, you can run regular but a noticable power difference. I always run premium so no worries for me.

The interior is leaps and bounds over my SS!

I traded the truck in up in NH, but I'd warn you that it had some underlying problems, which is why I got rid of it.

Thanks all!

the day i traded my SS in I had gotten 13.6mpg that tank. Mixed city/highway. The brand new denali mixed driving on its first tank of gas got 16mpg. Should get slightly better once broken in I think.

I'm addicted to remote start and hate the cold so that is killing me on the second tank lol 13mpg so far, all city.

Sweet ride bud! Denali Sierra quadcab is exactly what I would get for a truck if i could go get one today. I'm partial to that color too.

Yeah your SS was nice but the new stuff has come a long way, you should be real happy, congrats! I hope you got what you were asking for on the SS, that truck was mint for the age/mileage.

Thanks Dan -

I made out really well on the trade of the SS.
You can tell there is a 7year difference technology wise between the trucks for sure.

Yeah I know that thing is striped apart by now. For the same reason its totaled, parts are hard to come by and too costly to fix, cost 3x's as much to fix as a regular SSEI.

BTW That car has infinity kappas in the front doors and rear deck, i was too pissed to remove em. If they're still there.
