Don't know the owner but I did snap a few pics with my cell phone.

It looked like he crashed just after the 1320 ? Who brings a 600+hp car to the track on street tires anyways ???

When I pulled my 2 front wheels back in 2009.... (gotta get back to the track!!) anyways some tool took a Newer Ford GT to the track on streets and absolutely obliterated it.

Tons of down time trying to collect all the carbon fiber.

That car does not look too bad. But again a night shot with a camera phone can only take so much.

That's going to be a fun one to explain to the insurance company.

Really not much to explain. No coverage. Might as well not even report it and just get it fixed.

Now if there was a loan in it.... oh baby, that is going to suck.

It's one of those, take it to a body shop, pay cash, never report, resell not in local area.

Never talk about it again. Otherwise it sounds like he might as well be buried in it.

How does it work if you crash at the track? Do the Cops file an accident report there?

What's to prevent someone from towing it home and saying they crashed on a back road or something?

I've heard of people doing that... but I imagine on a $100k+ car the insurance company is going to want to see a police/accident report.

You would need a police report. I am no cop but beleive me when I say, they know when you wreck a car out or intentionally wreck it. Also claims adj will know their stuff too when it comes to this.

I have no clue if NED or any track needs to report this but unless the car burst into flames and burnt to the ground, they are going to ask where are all the other pieces if they question it.

I am an insurance agent and I can tell you from my exp. Calling in saying you had a accident and not having a report to back it up will not get you far and they do investigate.

Also to really answer your question. IF the owner does what you say, its a felony. So it really depends on how brave they are.

I was talking to that guy for about 20 min before it happened. He was giving me advice on my stall. He was ahead of me so I had to do my burnout twice. I couldnt believe he was the one who crashed that car. Really nice guy.
