Thinking of trading my Trailblazer SS for one. Was wondering if anyone had feedback on them? turbo or supercharger? can you run 87? Hows the gas mileage?
Thanks,
Marco

I currently drive a 06 TBSS and my gf has an 06 Cobalt SS. Her is the NA version though. She gets mid 30s on highway and high 20s driving around city. If i had to compare the two i pick the TB, BUT it may be different if hers was the S/C version. And my GF runs 87 in hers.

I have an 06 supercharged Cobalt that I bought new in 06. It's just stock with a k+n. I get around 24/25 around town and have gotten 35 on the highway. Mostly around 30/33 if I keep my foot out of it. You can run 87 but you will loose some power(super is recommended).

I would like to stay domestic but the WRX and mazda speed 3 are growing on me too!
I think if I went with the SS I would go with the turbo version just for the extra hp.
I really want a Pontiac G8 GT but its not in the budget right now

I had a wrx. The thing was fun to drive, but after like 20K on it, the thing was creaking, and the paint quality on it was terrible. To the point, that I don't think I would drive one anywhere that they salt the roads again... the rock chips it was getting, were insane.
20K on that and it looked twice as bad as my pickup after 75K, fwiw.

smart choice, they upgraded the brakes and suspension on the turbo version as well, all around better than the SS/SC IMO. I had an 05 ss/sc for almost 6 years was much more fun once i got rid of the supercharger and put a nice 60 trim on it.

I had a 06 ss/sc with the a cold air and stage 2 kit on it. I put a 2.8 pulley on it which put it up to 18psi and it ran really good. The torque steer was really bad and wheel hop was a problem if you don't put a dampener on it. I got around 21-25mpg in town and 30-33mpg on the highway. Fun little car.
From what I'm hearing now I would go with the turbo version if I got another one.

I like my '07 SC/SS. Fun car for a commuter and I can get about 33mpg with casual driving. Good bang for the $$ I think. If you can find a great deal on the '08+ tc version then it's the way to go but I didn't come across anything close for the money.

The later Cobalt SS turbos are really stout performers but for overall comfort and winter snow/ice I'd probably still prefer the TBSS (if it's an AWD model that is).
I hear that.

I was considering the wrx just for that reason to get around in the winter and have some fun at the spectator drags

I picked up a 06 ss sc for my daily. I get like 27-28 mpg and its like a mix of highway and city. I wouldn't run 87 in a FI car. Its a decent car but I wouldnt buy another one its to small for me and I dont really need something like it for a daily. I paid 12.5 for it on the road from a dealer with like 43k on it. It now has 51xxx
