Default Sled guys come in!

Artic Cat Firecat series? Sabercat? or Ski doo REV's? all 2003-2004 year models. Which is the best sled. This would be my very first sled purchuse and looking to spend $2000-$2500 for the right sled.

plan on doing a mix of trail riding and powder riding depending who im riding with.

Stick with SkiDoo Rev. I don't think you will find one for $2K this time of year unless it has an issue or two. This is how veteran snowmobile guys have explained it to me...Arctic cat are fast but their parts are not durable. SkiDoo is very reliable, rebuildable and plentiful.

I ride an 04 600HO SkiDoo Rev Renegade with an updated SC4 skid and X shocks. This thing will hook and go! I have reverse and love it but did not get electric start - it usually starts first or second pull and sits in a heated garage.

My son is on a MXZ 700 ZX chassis and wants a Rev - you could probably start out on a ZX chassis for well under $2K but a Rev is a totally different machine. My 600HO will walk him pretty bad.

I found a few rev's in the $2500 range but have 9000 miles on em. That F6 looks mint with barely any miles on it but i really want reverse

You will find Arctic cat for cheaper and I wouldn't want a sled with 9,000 miles on it. I'd recommend sticking with around 3,000 or less.

the F6 is a nice sled my buddy rides one his is a 04 efi reverse is almost imposable to find on the 03-06 f series.

for the money your looking at spending your almost better off finding a nice zx chassis the model before the rev platform my budddy bought a 02 800 for 3k last year with 1200 miles and it had the rer reverse

I wouldn't recommend the firecat but you can find them cheaper then a Rev. I love my Rev and would look around longer and save a little more money for a skidoo but that's me. Go to dootalk.com and check out the classifieds.

The F6 and F7 are fast sleds in a straight line. They do not handle or ride as nice as a REV though. Also, a sled without reverse kinda sucks!

The Skidoo REV chassis is nicer IMO. Stay away from the 03 beaver tail and be cautious of the 04 motor. I heard a lot of them came with bad rings from the factory.

I'd hit up Noyzee for more details on the REV chassis. I think he has a good amount of experience with them.

I may buy another sled this year myself, i'm just worried that this winter will suck. Last winter was horrible for us here in NH. If you wanted to ride you pretty much had to trailer the sleds way up North. In previous years I could ride from my house whenever I wanted to ride. Plenty of trails behind my house that connect to bigger trails but no snow!

issue is if i wait and try to save more money the prices will just keep going up as the season approaches.I'd lov a nice 2005 REV with low miles but they are expensive. I can find the 550cc fan cooled ones for cheap but i hear they are slow.

What about this sled for $2200. Its got a decent amount of miles but the price is right and it has reverse.

That's a steal at $2200. So long as it checks out OK. Bring a compression tester with you.

A friend of mine had a Arctic Cat Mountain Cat 600 with 11000 miles on the original motor. Never changed the pistons or rings and it ran great! So dont always be afraid of high miles.

should i go with that sabercat or the F6 with 1400 miles?

$2200 for the sabercat w/ 6100 miles. $2700 for the F6 w/ 1400 miles. Sabercat has reverse F6 dosen't. I heard the F6 has better suspension then the sabercat chassis.

F6 if you dont mind not having reverse. If you dont mind hopping off the sled to turn the sucker around in tight situations, i'd get the F6.

Are you going to the Freemont grass drags this weekend? They sometimes have good deals on used sleds. It is definitely worth going to if you are into sleds. Big event!!

yeah i went last year I should be there sunday this year. I'll have some cash in my pocket. if anything i need some boots too. I am not far from fremont.

I think im going to pull the trigger on the F6. I am sure it isn't that heavy of a sled being a 600cc. the miles are low enough i could ride it for a season or 2 and sell it and not lose my shirt on it and upgrade to a REV when i have more $$
