Default Simple heads/cam dyno :)

I just thought I would share my dyno gains. My goal was to have a simple heads/cam combo that makes good power under the curve and is streetable.
Keep in mind that these numbers are on a loaded Mustang Dyno. Once I drove the car I couldnt believe how much power it gained. It pulls like crazy now. Very happy. Too bad we are getting almost another foot of snow around here so I wont be able to drive it Anyway it went from 366/361 cam only to 414/383 just by adding a set of PRC 2.5 5.3 heads and 42 lb injectors! So I guess the 1998 806 heads were REALLY holding it back.

Very nice results, I'm in the same boat as you with 806 heads but have some tea stage 2 heads that need to go on. I made 365/345 give or take at slowhawk same parts as you but 224/228 cam. Now I really wana get them on. What's your compression at and are you going with a bigger intake set up?

I am not sure but the think the compression is 10:9. I dont think i'll do a fast intake the car is really fast to me.

Yeah very surprised on the mid range power. Funny thing is I cant even tell if its louder or not because that lm1 was so loud before. Valve train is actually really tame.

For the $ those 5.3 heads are proven again and again solid performers for stock castings. The nice thing is they work great on street cars with mild cams, a bump in CR and good mid lift numbers should wake it up for sure. On a factory cube car a 45+ hp gain from a set of heads is great for any brand.

Heck thats what my AFR's got me back in the day when I first put em on. (but I did have 241's, and 806's suck)

Your car's idle sounds a lot like mine. That ORY and LM1 should keep you awake cruising around

Awesome. I knew you would end up with some heads too. So when can we expect to see your car with a fast? I think it will happen eventually lol

hey mike! Sweet gains with the heads that's awesome. I havent been on the boards in a while, but had to check in and see where the car was at. Thing must pull hard

Hopefully getting mine back on the road soon. Got just about every suspension goodie BMR offers sitting in my living room waiting to be installed.

damn...you make me want to ditch my magnaflow and put my old LM1 back on...I miss that idle.....May be time for me to get heads too...I'd love to see what a set of 243s would bring over my 241s

Anyway man, congrats on the upgrade. See you around

Matt

Nice numbers from a simple proven combo that doesnt break the bank. Idle sounds good with the LM. That dyno is on the stingy side too isnt it?

It could be. It is the only dyno my car has been on so I dont have another one to compare.
