Default New vette: How Fast?

OK, my boss just bought a brand new Vette. Just incase we ever line up, I need to know what to expect. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm guessing its a stick, and I'm guessing he is an average to worse than average driver (compared to the people in here, that know how to launch). What do you think this car will lay down for 1/4 ET's and MPH's? How bout 60ft? Do they hook well on the street?
For those that don't know me, my Lightning runs 12.7's all day, with a 105-107mph. I can 60 anywhere from 1.85-2.0 on street tires and 1.80's on ET streets. I'm sure he'll get me on the highway, but I'm hoping I can pull him at least to triple digits. What do you guys think?

That new Vette has 350+ at the rear wheel. I wouldn't be suprised to see 115 with me driving it

Ya, I know I'll get whooped on the highway, even a stock C5 gives me headaches above 70, thank God I'm making power out of the whole, or this thing would be a turd!

Cartek ran thier C6, and if you remove the mods (add 1.0 sec) there is your answer:

The car has Kook’s 1 ¾" headers, high flow cats, 3.90 gears, HD out put shaft, 160 thermostat, Cartek fan controller, torque management elimination module, Cartek line lock kit, and 17" ET Streets and TA wheels. We also have a set of temporary mufflers but we did not gain any HP. Yes the air intake is stock.

60’………1.552

330’……..4.700

1/8………7.332

MPH…….93.04

990………9.554

¼………...11.536

MPH……..118.23

Slowhawk has a C5 Vette with an air induction lid and a Z06 catback. I don't think headers were installed at the time; with Nitto 555R's he ran a 12.4.

The C6 Vettes are going to be quicker than the C5's, more power and less weight. If and when they ever get LS2 Edit, a simple tune on a stock C6 should produce some close 12.00 timeslips with a good driver.

Ya, like I said though...I'm doubting the good driver thing, or the willingness to beat on it. And I highly doubt he will mod it at all. Its more of a "I have a vette" car for him I think.

Hey Nosy.....Bring it bubba! I'm already upped the boost since last year too. Even then I had what...two seconds on the caddy?

OK, you got me, I am afraid of your Daddies car!
As for the 72, pulleeeze! That tired old dog ain't been out of its cage since Christ wore short pants! You put a 200 shot on her and you'll blow those rusted *** doors off of it, if them dry rot tires don't blowout like a broken *** gasket first! Get the twins to bust out thier hooptie. Win or lose, I still want to line up with them.

I've seen reports that the new C6 stock will turn 12.5@ 115 mph. I bought one 2 weeks ago. I'll find out this summer. 2005 C6, MN6, black, Z51 and polished wheels.

Hey Whip, the Deuce doesn't have rusted doors...

Those are speed bubbles. The 72'd eat us all alive.

If it's a bone stock manual your L will take him from a dig.
If it's a bone stock auto you will still take him but he has less of a chance of screwing it up.
Should be a good race either way.
