Default Autox season opener in MA

This Sunday the 17th the autox season opens here in MA. The SCCA is have the event at the old Ft. Devens airfield in Ayer. See WWW.NER.ORG for details in the Solo II section. There is a novice class and they have loaner helmets if you dont have one. It would be nice to see some more ponycars come out an play. They only tough rule is they have a sound limit due to some A$$ H*l# people who moved in and complained, so you have to be below 90 DB @ 75 feet, They have a meter on the course and check everyone.
So come out and play

I'm like half an hour from Devens. Wouldn't mind checking it out. Although I dunno if I'll pass the noise limit. A4 w/ stall is't an optimal car for autox either.

Maybe I'll have to go watch. What time is this at?

reg is at 8:00am and first car off is around 9-9:30. The cars run all day till about 4pm. They are expecting 180-200 cars. the F-Stock class is lightly populated( thats for stock f-bodies and mustangs) and E Street Prep is also a small class(lightly modded ponycars, and turbo rally cars(STI, EVO,WRX))
It is free to come watch

Can I sign up that day to enter as it seems a little late to do it on line now. The weather looks great for Sunday.

Do you need to be a member of the SCCA or anything or can I just show up with a helmet and money to run?

you dont need to be a member. The cost is 30 for members, 40 for nonmembers. the gates open at 7:00am. The cars must pass tech Which means batteries must be secure, no NOS bottles in car, all junk must be out of car, no wornout tires ( cord showing) good throttle return springs, seatbelts work, firm brake pedal, etc. There is a novice chairpersn who will guide all novices in what they must do, and you can ask to have a instructor ride with you on your runs if you want.

No nitrous bottles in the car! I'm gonna need a real long feed line then.
