The new motor trend has a shootout between the zo6 the viper and the ford Gt and again the z06 destroys the viper and is toe to toe with the GT. They also put the cars on a mustang dyno and made 453rwhp and 411rwtq and said the z06 was making more like 530 flywheel horse, they also said the the viper was about 530 flywheel horse and the GT was around 600 flywheel. If it was me I would by the Z06 and mod it, you can mod the vette for less money, don't have to send it across country to get a good tune and we've seen what the Z06 is capable of with very little mods.

The way things are going you will spend more to get a new Z06 than a Viper. The new Z06's are 71,500.00 and that's without the markup. With markup they are easily as much as a Viper (85,000.00) and more than likely; more money.
The Z06 is going to be a special edition car and the price will be so inflated just like the *cough* ZR1 *cough*.
If I was spending that kind of money I'd rather be building a 8.3 liter 510 hp 535 tq engine.

Tough decision.
Based on what's in the article, the Z06 seemed skiddish at the limit, ready to throw its own *** around at any lapse of concentration. The Viper seemed like a much more planted beast with a more suited chassis for the job, at the cost of a few hundred pounds and some luxury options. Both were great on the street.
The Z06 got a better lap time by a second and a half, and C&D's writers openly said that they weren't willing to push the car any harder than they did and that GM's best drivers likely could've knocked two more seconds off their time. Who knows how accurate their time with the Viper is when compared to its full potential.
I like the Viper's styling more. Not a huge fan of the convertible, but the coupe looks perfect. The Z06 looks good outside of the hood scoop, I think that thing's misplaced and ugly as hell. Corvette's interior is better, although the seats won't hold you as well.
I think I'd opt for the Viper in the end, but I'd be conflicted about it.

Ill take the Z over the viper anyday. I have a friend that lets me drive his ACR Viper and its fast but thats it. I would compare it to driving a worn out fox body mustang. Its loud inside,it darts all over the road and the driving position is horrible.
One thing I will say for the viper is if you want to feel like a race car driver then thats the car for you.
There is a brand new viper coupe running around the taunton Mass area. I dont think it looks as good as the old GTS.
