Default Road trip coming up....

Can anyone from the greater Worcester-Boston, Ma. area give me a approximate driving time from central or eastern Ma. to just north of Baltimore, Md.? (Perryville, Md. to be exact.) Got to run down there and back in the next 2 or 3 wks. Thanks to anyone in-the-know. WJ

I'm sure you know about mapquest, but that's what I usually use to figure how long a trip will be. www.mapquest.com. click the link for driving directions, enter starting and ending cities and states, and it will tell you how many miles and how long at the speed limit, so subtract a little time if you don't drive like an old lady.

I've done it in less then 4 from cheshire ct and in an 18 wheeler so you should have no problem with 6 as a guestimate.

Hey Warren. Made the trip many times. Yep maybe 6 but the trick is to avoid NY traffic. If at all possible stay out of there between 4-8. You can easilly get stuck for 2 hrs or more. I dont know how mapquest sent you but best bet is the north river crossing... the tappenzee, then pick up the pallisades which will put you on the west side of the city. Then take 80 to 95.

Hi Brent. You mean stay out of there between 4-8 am, pm, or both? I planned to use Tappan Zee bridge. Apreciate the help. Hey, I just bought a '06 Harley, (end of April delivery.)so the Grand Prix won't be seeing low 12's or high 11's this summer...Going to have some fun and do a little traveling around w/the new bike....Middle-age crazies--you know. Maybe I'll meet a biker-***** or 2. WJ

If you meet bike ***** 2 let me know. I'm single again. Well i wasnt even thinking of the AM but anytime between 630AM and 9AM is bad. I can hit the bridge in about 3 hrs from NH so I usually get on the road by 6 and plan to hit NY at 9 and miss it. If you think we have traffic here, you aint seen nothing. Bridges and tolls backed up for an hour to 1 1/2 is commonplace.

Thanks. I'll take your advice. My Harley would get SO embarassed by the Import bikes performance wise and at the track especially, but there's just something about driving a HD that's special.... WJ

good luck on your road trip... You might think of taking HWY 15 in CT not as busy at 95, and will connect to 87 just before the tappan zee bridge (and a nice drive to boot)

I've gotten to Dover Delaware in about 6-6 1/2 hours. I agree with taking the tappanzee and going down the garden state pkwy. NYC traffic sucks. I usually leave aroud 3 am or so.
