Anyone own a Sea Doo boat?
Anyone here own a Sea Doo boat, such as a sportster? Those things look fun and hell, wanna get one next season. Just looking for some input on them.

Just picked up a seadoo speedster with the twin rotax. Traded my mint 94 pontiac Formula strait up for it. I look at it as a family jet ski. 60 mph and crank the wheel all the way and it spins out. It is a blast. It is just a toy though. I just sold my formula 242 LS with a big block and feel kinda silly riding in this thing. I am going to sell it if your interested. too many toys and not enough time.

I will get some pics this weekend. It is definitely a blast. the boat is super clean with the matching seadoo trailer. My 18 mo old daughter is not thrilled with the 55mph wind blast w no windshield but she will get used to it. The 3 year old loves it. I will get ~ 4500 for it. I have used it once all season. My brother in law who I got it from used it 3 times in 4 seasons.

Good for not getting very wet and hitting some waves.

No, I still ride an '00 Sea Doo XP.
I've ridden them all, and like the Sea Doos the best. Yamaha would be a close second.
I like the new skis, but I'll never get rid of my XP. If I were to buy a 3 person now, I'd go for an '04/'05 GTX or I guess RXT if new. The thing is you can find these PWCs for dirt cheap after labor day.
People don't want to store them/didn't use them enough and would rather get rid of them. So personally I'd buy a slightly used one and sit on it over the winter. You'll save yourself 5 grand easy.
Sea Doos boats are cool, but I couldn't see myself buying one. Maybe for a small lake or river.

Can go a whole weekend cruising around a lot and use ~30 gallons of gas (tank is 40) pretty great toy.
Jet Boats are a blast...just another toy
Here's a pic for you to chew on:

Best Sea-d00 I ever owned was a 96 XP...so much so that I just bought another pair! I have ridden many. These are short..can dig or slide and even be subbed...but they launch. Coatguard came up with a restriction about the size of hull and this much power, so that'll never be found quite the same. Try one. Less than 3k too. Only issue is top speed stock is like 55-60 on flat water...but sooo what.

but I also race mine, IJSBA limited- the X3/X4 hulls are known to be one of the most sought after and best handling hulls ever. the XP hull like he has is also one of the best handling.
but I also ahve a worx grate, and worx sponsons and will rip you off on a sharp turn at any kind of decent speed. mine doesnt spin anymore, I built it not to.
