got the heads on today. we started at 8am this morning...well, i started at 8. James showed up at 9. It was a bitch getting the DS bolts off the head bc the header was in the way. The passenger header fell down out of the way, but the damn DS header wouldnt budge. We decided to stop and wait til next Saturday to finish since all we have to do is torque down the head bolts and but the water pump, PS assembly, and intake back on. Shouldnt take nearly as long as it did to get everthing off. It took forever to clean out the bolt holes bc i was being real **** about it.

oh, what do you do about the gasket that fell into the water jackets when we scraped off the old gasket? I was being careful, but there was no real way around it...I got everything out of the bolt holes, cylinders and we pulled the lifter trays and lifters out and cleaned them too

Take one of the old bolts and cut a grove in it then use it as a thread chaser. There are times doing a little extra work, ie removing the headers completely, will save time and effort in the long run.

It had the stock graphite gaskets on it so I won't worry about the stuff getting into the water passages, you could take a shop vac and suck out the water if you really wanted to.

Going to drill holes in the lifter trays so the oil returns to the pan quicker?

had my frist real kill in the SS this morning it was great!!! It go's like this.. I am on my way to work coming through the the 64 to 664 change up heading to the M&M I spot a blue SS looks stock but he gets next to me and lay's on it a little.. There is a lot of traffic so I was praying he would stay around long a nuff to hit up the M&M sure a nuff he did!! We found a nice open patch before the hump I droped it down to third three beeps to the horn from him and we are off. I pulled two car in third by the time I hit fourth it was over.. he caught back up gave the thumbs up and we went our ways.. Wish I could have had a little more of a challenge but I guess you got to take what you can get... It was fun though!!

I was getting ready to get the t/a inspected when the cat below threshold dtc came up and gave me a ses light.

Looks like I'll be taking it up to greenbrier to get them changed. Then I can get it inspected! I went to do it saturday before the light came on and the alternator died.

yea, its a noticeable difference. the guy i bought it from has a stg2 wastegate, which isnt as good as the agp and before i put the wastegate on mine we raced he pulled on me hard as ****. now that i have the wastegate on, i have instant boost, im not pcm controlled either now, so i dont have to wait for the computer to build boost. the stock one only lets you hit 6psi in first to help with wheel spin, the agp spikes as high as you want, 18psi for now. the stock one also starts to bleed off at 4psi, which the agp doesnt until i think around 16psi or so.... 40mph in 2nd gear, which is only around 3200rpms or so.... punch it and you instantly burn the tires.
