It depends wehre in Jersey you are. Cartek and TTP are northern Jersey, but if you are in southern or central Jersey, Harris Speed works in PA might be a closer drive. They should be able to help you as well.

jsut buy HPTuners and do it yourself. the software is super simple and has a million help files to explain anything you want done. you will have the ability to endlessly adjust your tuning for only a little more than the price of a one time tune provided by a shop.

Plus the cost of a good laptop as well if one doesn't already have it.

No need for a laptop, just get a longer cable and connect it to the desktop.

I personally took the approach of getting HP Tuners as well, granted I already had a laptop. I hated being at the mercy of someone else and always feeling rushed to do the tune. But then again, I refuse to pay someone to do something I could do myself, but that's just me.

when i first used/learned to use the software my buddy was using about a 10 year old piece he got for $50 at a flea market. lol
the only thing a slower laptop really seems to change is the capture rate for the data logging, everything else works perfectly.

Sure, Its always fun to put your multi thousand dollar engine in the hands of someone [even yourself] with absolutely no tuning experience. Its a lot cheaper to pay for a tune then it is to rebuild a melted down motor.

I have talked to Julio endless hours about car tuning, asked him endless questions about his tuning and have gotten hundreds of awesome answers. But when it comes time to tune my car, even though I have an excellent MacBook Pro, I hand the keys to someone with years and hundreds if not thousands of cars worth of experience, Julio.

His tunes have never failed me. I am sure if I got the software I would be able to tune my car, but would I be able to tune it better then him? Never!

Don't gamble with it, take it to a professional like Julio @ CARTEK.

If I need a house designed, being an Architect, I can do it. If I need my car tuned or worked on, I take it to someone with equal expertise [if not MUCH greater] in the LSx field; CARTEK

with how easy it i sto learn your way around HPTuners, i wouldn't consider the engine to be at any risk. with so many help files, online support, the tune dump on their site, and how clearly everything is marked in the program it is a breeze to get it done.

i am an old school carb guy, i can tune them in my sleep and i never had any interest in using EFI until HPT was explained to me. it took all of about 15 minutes to learn how to use it.

as long as you have some common sense about how fuel, air, and spark work you can do it. if you don't already have the basics, it is in the help files.
