CT guys w/ Magnaflow?
Hey all, i NEED to quiet down my car after 3 tickets in 3 weeks for b/s. I love the way it sounds but i will admit its too loud. Anyways, ive been spending a lot of time at LS1Sounds...but i still cant figure out what i like or what isnt as loud as my set up, which is QTP LTs and Catted Y (cats are hollow now from the rich set up before it got tuned) and SLP loudmouth catback. Anyways, i'm just looking for either advice on what is still going to sound good at an idle...i do still want to hear it....but wont sound like i'm doing 140mph at 2,000 rpms's lol thats what attracts the d*mn cops. I was thinking magnaflow from the ls1sounds sight and was looking for feedback or anyone w/ a similar set up in the CT area that might want to meet up so i can hear it in person. P.S....i have the Torquer II which makes it louder as well so if you guys have a cam w/ similar specs thats a plus. Thanks!

i have to agree with you and have been thinking alot lately about my exhaust, i have kook's long tubes with cats and a LM1 with a cam. i love how it sounds but i know its way to loud for the damm cops. My friend just got pulled over recently in his acura and the cop made hime restart his car and rev it up to hear it, then gave him a $266 ticket. If that happens to me once he hears it im screwed... but anyway the magnaflow sounds good and is deffinatly alot quiter than the LM, but also i hear the hooker catback is quiet and has good flow to it.. you can always run a cutout??

thechef has magnaflow with LT's and an ORYP. I have the QTP LT's with catted Y and SLP Dual/Dual. We both have cams. Mine is pretty quiet. His is quiet until you romp on it then it sounds like hell visited earth.
Where in CT are ya? Maybe we can meet you at a car show or something.

I'd say you can come hear my car... but with a 13 to 1 402 with the same exhaust setup you're running I don't think it will help much LOL.
IMO, put a stock catback on it, or a slp dual/dual if you can find one, or even a 2otl if you can tolerate having tips out one side only. Those all will quiet it down a ton and not kill the power too bad.

Rob and Jay...thanks for the replies...for the record, this is Chris lol..(w/ the black SS) I havnt had a free second for anything this past week, but i'd still love to hear your car now that you have the Cam in....let me know if your around this weekend if the weather isnt too bad....and rob i remember your car somewhat from last season but i wouldnt mind hearing it again before i make a move. Thanks for the rest of replies...i just need something that when i'm actually NOT doing anything illegal or racing, the cops wont have any reason to come after me...which both times this season is exactly what happened.....i was actually in NEUTRAL rolling past one of the stratford cops when i got the first ticket. LOL
P.S...i'm down in Milford, but cruise all over CT so if anyone does want to meet up i'm up for it.

I have Kooks long tubes with cats and Borla catback with an electric cutout for the Borla to adjust the sound. The car has heads/CAM in it also (pretty big cam). I can meet you in Milford or surrounding area also if you want a comparison between the others.

I went through the same bullshit with the loudmouth, I went with a stock WS6 exhaust and electric cutout. On the dyno I lost power through the stock exhaust but the electric cutout made the same power as the loudmouth.

Chris, I have Kooks headers and catted y pipe, Magnaflow, and the Torquer I cam, come listen to my car, we have basically the same exact set ups. I will be around this weekend. I used to have the loudmouth and I just changed to the magnaflow this year, let me just say that it is nice to take a long drive and actually be able to hear when I get out of the car.

I have catted Kooks LT's + SLP Dual/Dual with a cam. I've always shyed away from loud exhaust (I want the power but none of the noise). I'm louder than stock for sure, but I don't mind it too much (still getting used to) but as others have stated, as long as I'm below 3k I'm fine Open throttle above 3k seems to get their attention (one stopped up the road from me and brought out the search light - too late as I was at cruse and ~ 2k ) If I think a setup like this is alright, then you really shouldn't have law issues once you get a magnaflow (I'm quite picky with loud exhaust is an understatement ) ... below 3k that is
